Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) will conduct the TSPSC Group III Exam 2026 to recruit candidates for the posts of Junior Assistant in the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Junior Assistant in the office of Transport Commissioner, Typist in the Home Department, Junior Stenographer in Intelligence Department, etc.

TSPSC Group III Exam will have three papers - Paper I, Paper II, & Paper III. Candidates planning to appear for the TSPSC Group III 2026 exam must know the detailed syllabus and exam pattern to strategize their exam preparation.

  • The TSPSC Group III exam will have 3 papers: Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III.

Paper I: General Studies & General Abilities

Paper-I of TSPSC Group III is of General Studies & General Abilities. The Paper-I syllabus includes the following topics.

  • International Relations and Events.
  • General Science; India’s Achievements in Science and Technology.
  • Environmental Issues; Disaster Management- Prevention and Mitigation Strategies.
  • World Geography, Indian Geography, and Geography of Telangana State

  • Society, Culture, Heritage, Arts and Literature of Telangana.
  • Policies of Telangana State.

Paper II: History, Polity, & Society

The Paper II of the TSPSC Group III exam consists of 3 sections. The section-wise syllabus of TSPSC Group III Paper-II is mentioned below.

  • Satavahanas, Ikshvakus, Vishnukundins, Mudigond, and Vemulawada Chalukyas and their contribution to culture; Social System; Religious conditions; Buddhism and Jainism in ancient Telangana; Growth of Language and Literature, Art and Architecture.
  • The establishment of the Kakatiya kingdom and their contribution to socio-cultural development. Growth of Telugu Language and Literature under the Kakatiyas – Art, Architecture and Fine Arts. TSPSC Group III Exam Pattern 2026

The TSPSC Group III Exam will have 3 papers:

  • Paper I: General Studies and General Abilities
  • Paper II: History, Polity and Society
  • Paper III: Economy and Development

The detailed TSPSC Group III Exam Pattern is tabulated below.

TSPSC Group III Exam Pattern

  • Mode of Papers: Offline OR Online (TSPSC will decide)
  • Exam paper languages: English, Telugu or Urdu
  • Total Marks: 450 marks
  • All the papers are objective, with 150 multiple-choice questions of 1 mark each.
  • All the questions will have 4 options. Candidates must select only one response for each question and mark it in the Answer Sheet.
  • Candidates can only use a Black/Blue ink ballpoint pen to mark in the answer sheet.
  • Negative marking for wrong answer: No negative marking
  • Paper II and Paper III have 3 sections each. 50 questions of 1 mark each are asked from each section in both Paper II and Paper III.
  • The minimum qualifying marks for the exam for different categories are:
    • Open Category, Sports Men, Ex-servicemen & EWS: 40% (i.e. 180 marks)
    • BC: 35% (i.e. 159.75 marks)
    • SC/ST/PH: 30% (i.e.135 marks)
  • Mere securing minimum qualifying marks is not enough for selection.
  • After qualifying TSPSC Group III Written Examination, candidates will be called in order of merit for verification of Certificates according to Community, and Category for the vacancies available.

Ques: Is there any negative marking in the TSPSC Group 3 exam?

Ans: No. A total of 150 questions are asked in each paper of the TSPSC Group 3 exam. Each question carries 1 mark. Marks are not deducted for wrong answers attempted by the candidate.

Ques: How many minimum marks to qualify for the TSPSC Group 1 Prelims exam in Telangana?

Ans: The minimum qualifying marks for the TSPSC Group 3 exam for different categories are:

  • Open Category, Sports Men, Ex-servicemen & EWS: 40% (i.e. 180 marks)
  • BC: 35% (i.e. 159.75 marks)
  • SC/ST/PH: 30% (i.e.135 marks)

Ques: How many stages are there in the TSPSC Group 3 exam?

Ans: There is only 1 stage in the TSPSC group 3 exam. There is no interview round in TSPSC Group 1 recruitment. After the written exam, candidates will be called for document verification according to the vacancies.
