Q: What benefit will I derive from solving the previous year’s question papers?

A: If you sincerely solve at least the last 5-10 years of papers you will get to know about exam patterns, important topics which you need to cover as well as questions that are most asked every year. This information will give you a general direction of preparation and where to put in your efforts for the best outcome.

Q: How much time is needed to clear the CDS exam?

A: Ideally, one year is recommended to clear any exam, let alone CDS, but if you are on a time crunch, you should start preparing at least 6 months before the exam to guarantee a good score.

Q: Is there any negative marking in CDS?

A: Yes, for each wrong answer attempted 1 mark will be deducted from your overall score. It is recommended that you thoroughly practice the previous year's papers and attempt as many mock tests as possible. Keep in mind that there is no negative marking for unanswered questions in CDS

Q: Is there any attempt limit to CDS?

A: No, there is no attempt limit to CDS, you can attempt as many time as you wish provided you fit in the eligibility criteria and still have not crossed the prescribed age limit.
