What to do next if qualified for the CDS 1 SSB Interview?

  • If a candidate qualifies for the written exam, then, he needs to appear for the SSB Interview round.
  • The candidates who have given their first choice as Army (IMA/OTA) need to register themselves on the recruiting directorate website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. They will receive call-up information for the SSB interview. Do not register if already registered.
  • If there is any change of address, the candidates need to inform the Army Headquarters/Naval Headquarters/Air Headquarters (of which armed forces’ SSB you are attending).
  • If a candidate has cleared the written exam cutoff marks to appear in all the Armed Forces’ SSB Interviews (IMA, INA, AFA, and OTA), then he will be initially summoned for one SSB interview. This SSB interview is of the armed forces that he selected as a preference during the CDS exam online application process.
  • The SSB Interviews of different Armed Forces will be conducted in various cities.
  • A final merit list will be prepared once the SSB Interviews are conducted. The merit list will be prepared by adding marks from the written exam and the SSB Interview. Subsequently, candidates will be recommended for the forces or not.

Candidates who qualify CDS 1 written examination move on to the SSB (Services Selection Board) interview, which is a crucial stage in the selection process. The SSB evaluates a candidate’s personality, intelligence, leadership qualities, and suitability for a career in the armed forces through a series of psychological tests, group tasks, and personal interviews.
