Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has announced UPTET Exam Date 2026. As per the official update, the UPTET 2026 examination will be conducted from July 02–04, 2026, covering Paper 1 and Paper 2. UPTET 2026 Exam will be conducted in offline mode in two shifts for Paper 1 (primary level) and Paper 2 (upper primary level). Morning (9:30 AM-12:00 PM) and afternoon (2:30 PM-5:00 PM), with bilingual question papers in English and Hindi. The detailed notification, including application dates, eligibility criteria, and exam pattern, will be released soon on the official website.
UPTET is Uttar Pradesh Teaching Eligibility Test, a state-level competitive exam to recruit teachers in Uttar Pradesh. This exam is conducted to select teachers for UP Government & Government Aided Schools. This exam is conducted in two papers, Paper 1, which is for primary or Class 1 to Class 5, and Paper 2, which is for upper primary or Class 6 to Class 8.

UPTET Notification 2026 is soon going to be released by UPSSC. Once UPTET notification 2026 is out, candidates can check out the exam pattern, number of vacancies allotted to be filled in UPTET 2026, syllabus, eligibility criteria, documents to be uploaded, application procedure, and reservation category details.
To appear for UPTET 2026, candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria as mentioned in UPTET Notification. This includes nationality, age limit, educational qualification, and number of attempts.
Applicants must be Indian. In case applicants are from Nepal, Bhutan, or any other country, then they need to provide a certificate of eligibility provided by the Government of India. However, applicants with UP domicile will get all preferences.
Candidates belonging to the General/Unreserved category must be within the age limit of 18 to 35 years. Age criteria for different categories of candidates are given below:

Candidates take unlimited UPTET exam attempts, but they need to be within the age limit as per their category criteria. UPSSC will give details about the number of attempts in UPTET Notification 2026.

Candidates from the General/Unreserved/EWS/OBC category have to pay UPTET Application fee of Rs. 600 per paper. For other categories, the fee table is given below:

UPTET has a similar syllabus for Paper 1, for the primary level, and Paper 2 for the upper primary level. Paper 1 has five sections and Paper 2 has 4 sections. Both papers have similar sections, but Paper 2 has.
