Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has announced UPTET Exam Date 2026. As per the official update, the UPTET 2026 examination will be conducted from July 02–04, 2026, covering Paper 1 and Paper 2. UPTET 2026 Exam will be conducted in offline mode in two shifts for Paper 1 (primary level) and Paper 2 (upper primary level). Morning (9:30 AM-12:00 PM) and afternoon (2:30 PM-5:00 PM), with bilingual question papers in English and Hindi. The detailed notification, including application dates, eligibility criteria, and exam pattern, will be released soon on the official website.

What is UPTET 2026?

UPTET is Uttar Pradesh Teaching Eligibility Test, a state-level competitive exam to recruit teachers in Uttar Pradesh. This exam is conducted to select teachers for UP Government & Government Aided Schools. This exam is conducted in two papers, Paper 1, which is for primary or Class 1 to Class 5, and Paper 2, which is for upper primary or Class 6 to Class 8.

UPTET Notification 2026

UPTET Notification 2026 is soon going to be released by UPSSC. Once UPTET notification 2026 is out, candidates can check out the exam pattern, number of vacancies allotted to be filled in UPTET 2026, syllabus, eligibility criteria, documents to be uploaded, application procedure, and reservation category details.

UPTET Eligibility 2026

To appear for UPTET 2026, candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria as mentioned in UPTET Notification. This includes nationality, age limit, educational qualification, and number of attempts.

  1. Nationality:

Applicants must be Indian. In case applicants are from Nepal, Bhutan, or any other country, then they need to provide a certificate of eligibility provided by the Government of India. However, applicants with UP domicile will get all preferences.

  1. Age Limit:

Candidates belonging to the General/Unreserved category must be within the age limit of 18 to 35 years. Age criteria for different categories of candidates are given below:

  1. Number of attempts:

Candidates take unlimited UPTET exam attempts, but they need to be within the age limit as per their category criteria. UPSSC will give details about the number of attempts in UPTET Notification 2026.

How to Apply for UPTET 2026?

UPSSC will soon open an application form filling portal for UPTET exam 2026. UPTET Application process is completely held online. Candidates shall follow the steps given below to fill out their application form:

  1. Visit updeled.gov.in
  2. Complete the registration process by filling in basic details like DOB, email, mobile number, etc.
  3. Then, log in with your Registration number and password.
  4. Fill in your personal details, educational qualifications, paper choice and exam centres.
  5. Upload a photograph, signature, and required documents.
  6. Pay the application fee (either online or offline)
  7. Download and save the application form and receipt for future reference.

UPTET Application Fee 2026

Candidates from the General/Unreserved/EWS/OBC category have to pay UPTET Application fee of Rs. 600 per paper. For other categories, the fee table is given below:

UPTET Admit Card 2026

UPTET Admit Card 2026 will be released on UP Basic Education Board (UPBEB / UPDELED) website, around 7- 10 days before UPTET exam. Candidates can follow the steps given below to download the admit card:

  1. At first, visit the official website updeled.gov.in
  2. Then, go to the “Admit Card/Download Hall Ticket” section.
  3. Then, enter your registration number, password/DOB, and captcha.
  4. Then, click on the download link
  5. Download UPSTET Admit Card in PDF format and take a printout.

UPTET Syllabus 2026

UPTET has a similar syllabus for Paper 1, for the primary level, and Paper 2 for the upper primary level. Paper 1 has five sections and Paper 2 has 4 sections. Both papers have similar sections, but Paper 2 has.

UPTET 2026 Paper 1 Syllabus

UPTET Paper 1 has five sections: Child Development & Pedagogy, two language subjects: one Hindi and another chosen from English/Urdu/Sanskrit, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Each section has 30 questions.

  1. Child Development & Pedagogy: It includes Child development through mental, physical, social, and language; learning through different laws and principles; different methods of teaching; inclusive education and guidance.
  2. Language 1 (Hindi): It includes Hindi language comprehension; idioms & proverbs; nouns, pronouns, tenses, and Gender Forms; grammar; and language skills.
  3. Language 2 (English/Urdu/Sanskrit): It includes Unseen Passages, Parts of Speech, Tenses, Voice, Word Formation, and Articles.
  4. Mathematics: It includes the basics of mathematics, Profit & Loss, SI, Percentage, and Mensuration.
  5. Environmental Studies: It includes Forest, History, Geography, sports, constitution & governance, and environment.

UPTET 2026 Paper 2 Syllabus

UPTET Paper 2 has four sections. The first three sections include Child Development & Pedagogy, two language papers: one in Hindi & another chosen from English/Urdu/Sanskrit, each section has 30 questions. The fourth section is Mathematics & Science or Social Studies, and has 60 questions.

  1. Child Development & Pedagogy: It includes Child development through mental, physical, social, and language; learning through different laws and principles; different methods of teaching; inclusive education and guidance.
  2. Language 1 (Hindi): It includes Hindi language comprehension; idioms & proverbs; nouns, pronouns, tenses, and Gender Forms; grammar; and language skills.
  3. Language 2 (English/Urdu/Sanskrit): It includes Unseen Passages, Parts of Speech, Tenses, Voice, Word Formation, and Articles.
  4. Mathematics: It includes the basics of mathematics, Profit & Loss, SI, Percentage, Mensuration, Algebra, Banking, Statistics, Probability.
  5. Science: It includes Science in Daily Life, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Environment & Ecology.
  6. Social Studies: It includes Indian History, Civics, Geography, Environmental Studies, Home Science, Physical Education & Sports, Music, Gardening & Agriculture.

UPTET 2026 Exam Pattern

UPTET exam has two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both papers have objective-type questions and are held offline. The Exam Pattern of both papers is given below:

For both papers, the total time given is 2 hours and 30 minutes. There is no negative marking, and each question in both papers carries 1 mark.

UPTET Vacancy 2026

UPTET vacancy to be filled in 2026 will be released in UPTET Notification 2026. This notification will contain category-wise vacancy allotment for General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, and PwBD.

UPTET Selection Process

UPTET follows a single-stage selection process to shortlist candidates. It has two papers, Paper 1 for primary & Paper 2 for upper primary. After the result is declared for both papers, successful candidates will be called for an interview and document verification.

UPTET answer keys will be released for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 on the website. Candidates are required to follow the given steps:

  1. Visit updeled.gov.in website.
  2. On the homepage, click on “UPTET Answer Key / Provisional Answer Key”.
  3. Then, click on the link to the Answer Key PDF for Paper 1 and/or Paper 2.
  4. Open the PDF and cross-check your answers with the provisional answer key.
  5. Then, calculate your score +1 for correct answers, 0 for wrong answers.

UPTET 2026 Result

UPTET 2026 Result will be released on the website. The final UPTET Merit List will include candidate names, roll numbers, marks, and qualifying status in a PDF format. Given below are the steps to access the result:

  1. Visit updeled.gov.in
  2. Go to the “UPTET Result” / “UP TET Result 2026” / “Result / Scorecard” section.
  3. Once the PDF opens, check your names, marks, and qualifying status.
  4. To view the scorecard, log in with your Registration Number and Password/DOB, then check your subject-wise score.

UPTET Previous Year Question Papers

In order to understand how questions are asked in UPTET exam, candidates should go through the past 5 years of UPTET Previous Year Papers.

By reviewing the questions in previous year papers, candidates have a clear idea of the exam pattern, the weightage of topics, and the level of difficulty in different subjects. Regular practice of PYP will build familiarity with the types of questions asked and time management.

In UPTET exam, the total marks in each paper are 150. UPTET cutoff will depend on the total number of candidates who appeared & qualified, the difficulty level of questions, and previous year cutoff trends. Candidates need to secure the following minimum qualifying marks:

UPTET Salary 2026

UP Government School Teachers get a salary as per the 7th Pay Commission. Primary school teachers get approximately Rs. 35,400, and Upper Primary school teachers get salaries of approximately Rs. 40,000. The table given below shows the salary structure of both primary and upper primary teachers:
