APSC Notification 2026 will be released soon by Assam Public Service Commission (APSC). It is a state-level civil service exam conducted annually to recruit officers for various civil services and administrative posts under the Government of Assam. APSC conducts a separate online application process for both the Prelims and Mains exams. Prelims is an objective-type screening test to shortlist candidates for Mains exam. Shortlisted candidates fill in the application form for APSC Mains exam (descriptive type) and Interview. Final selection is based on candidates' scores in Mains and Interview.
APSC exam is conducted to appoint officers to various Group A and Group B posts of Assam Government, like Assam Civil Service (Junior Grade), Assam Police Service (Junior Grade), Assam Finance Service, Deputy Collector, Labour Officer, District Transport Officer, BDO, etc. APSC exam is conducted in three stages: Prelims, Mains, and Interview.

APSC Notification 2026 will be released on the official website of APSC. This notification will include Prelims and Mains application start and end dates, Prelims and Mains exam dates, number of vacancies allotted, detailed eligibility criteria, exam pattern, exam syllabus, educational qualifications, how to apply, etc.
Candidates appearing for APSC Recruitment 2026 must meet certain eligibility criteria set by APSC. This criterion includes Nationality, domicile, Age Limit, Educational Qualification, and number of attempts.

Candidates must have completed graduation in any discipline from any university recognized by the Government of India or State Government. However, specific posts like engineering, medical, etc, require graduation in that specific field.
Candidates can appear as many times as they wish, provided they are within the age limit as per their category.
APSC will announce the date on which the online application form filling for APSC Prelims 2026 will start. Candidates should follow the steps given below to fill out their Prelims application form:

APSC will release APSC Prelims admit card 2026 around 7-8 days before the Prelims exam. Candidates can follow the steps given below to download their APSC admit card:
APSC selection process involves Prelims, Mains, and an Interview. APSC Prelims contains two papers, and Mains contains a total of six papers. APSC Mains is followed by an Interview/Personality Test.

APSC conducts a three-stage selection process to select candidates for Assam civil services:
After Prelims result, the number of candidates qualified for Mains will be 11 to 12 times the number of vacancies. After Mains result, the number of candidates qualified for the Interview will be three times the number of vacancies.
APSC will release its provisional answer keys for Prelims on its official website. To get access to the answer key, candidates shall follow the given steps:
To qualify for Mains, candidates must secure a minimum mark of 33% in CSAT. CSAT doesn’t have negative marking. Marks of Paper-1 or General Studies 1 are considered.

Ques: Is employment exchange registration mandatory for giving APSC exam?
Ans: Yes. Every candidate needs to get registered at a district employment office in Assam. After this, they need to submit the employment exchange registration number during the online application.

Ans: Yes. You can apply for multiple posts only if you meet the eligibility criteria for each post. But for each post, separate applications and fees are required.

Ans: The Final merit marks of APSC depend on the marks secured by a candidate in the Mains exam and Interview combined. Preliminary marks are only for qualification.

Ans: For giving APSC exam, candidates must carry their admit card, a valid photo ID proof, and black ballpoint pens.

Ans: Items that are not allowed inside APSC exam hall are mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches, or electronic gadgets.
Ques: Are government employees allowed to apply for APSC exam, and are there any special procedure requirements?
Ans: Yes. Government service employees can apply for APSC exam. But they must submit an undertaking during their Interview/Personality Test stating that they have informed their Head of Office/Department in writing about applying for APSC exam.
Ques: How many centers are allotted to APSC Prelims and Mains exam?
Ans: For APSC Prelims exam, there are 35 exam centers, but Mains is conducted only in Guwahati.
