APSC Exam Pattern and Syllabus are mentioned by the Commission in the official notification. The aspirants of APSC CCE exam must check them before they start preparing. Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) conducts various examinations throughout the year for the recruitment of Group ‘B’ & ‘C’ officers. The commission conducts the Combined Competitive Exam (CCE) for the appointment of officers for various posts under the Assam government.
As per the new rules of APSC (Amendment) Rules, 2019, the commission divides the whole recruitment drive into three exams - Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Personal Interview. The Prelims of the APSC CCE Exam consist of objective-based questions containing a total of 400 marks and the candidates clearing the prelims will be shortlisted for the mains exam.

The APSC has also published a few model papers for the Prelims exam (GS-I&II) to guide the CCE aspirants. Also, it is noteworthy to state here that 30-35% of the questions in the preliminary exam will be related to the Assam state. After qualifying the Prelims and Mains Exam, candidates will be called for the Personality test for the final selection. The final APSC cut off list will be made based on performance Mains Exam and Personality Test.
Ques. Is there any negative marking in the APSC CCE Exam for the wrong answer?
Ans. Yes, there is a negative marking system in the APSC CCE Exam. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Ques. Are the marks obtained in the language papers of the APSC CCE Mains Exam counted while preparing the final merit list?
Ans. No, the language papers in the mains exam are purely qualifying in nature. The marks obtained in the language papers will not be taken into consideration while preparing the merit list.
