Ques. How GATE percentage is calculated?
Ans. The formula of calculating GATE percentage is - P = ((N- your rank)/ N) x 100.
(N- Your rank) = the number of candidates who've scored less than you. P = (95/100)X100 = 0.95×100 = 95 percentile. From 2014 onwards, a new process is being used to calculate and normalize GATE percentile and scores according to the difficulty level of different sessions.
Ques. Is 35 a good score on GATE Exam?
Ans. Actually, it depends on the branch you are appearing for. For non-popular branches, it will be below 500. But surely you will be in the top 15% of your GATE stream.
Ques. Is 70 a good score on GATE Exam?
Ans. As per the latest reports, candidates who will be able to obtain 70 marks or more, there is a high chance of being listed in the list of top 100 candidates.
