GATE 2025 Registration

Registration for GATE can be completed online following a few simple steps. Here are all the related information you need to know before you start the registration and application process.

Information Required for GATE 2025 Application Form

Personal information including your name, date of birth, email ID, phone number, parents' name and mobile number, and address are required for the registration form. You are advised to refrain from using prefixes/titles like Mr/Mrs/Ms/Prof/Capt/Maj/Dr. etc next to your or your parents’ name.

In addition, enter all the education details in their correct order, the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2025 papers (along with codes) you wish to appear in, 3 exam centers as per your convenience (all belonging to the same zone), and your preferred payment details for the application fee.

Documents Required for GATE 2025 Registration

You are required to upload a high-quality photograph of yourself and your signature in the format mentioned below along with your application form. Besides, candidates belonging to a reserved category or having a PwD certificate/Dyslexia certificate must upload the same in the PDF format.

Other mandatory documents required with GATE Application Form 2025 include a scanned copy of any valid photo ID (Aadhar card/Passport/Voter ID/PAN card/Driving License) and relevant educational documents. You have to carry the photo ID you submit (Aadhar recommended) to the exam center along with your exam hall ticket for verification purposes.

Photograph	Upload a good quality, colour photograph of passport size (3.5 cm width × 4.5 cm height) with your face covering 60-70% of the photograph and the background completely white. Head Coverings are not permitted except for religious reasons.	The maximum pixel resolution is 530 x 690 pixels and the minimum resolution is 200 x 260 pixels. The file size uploaded must be a minimum of 5 kB and a maximum of 1 MB.
Signature	Upload a clear image of your signature in black or blue ink in JPEG/JPG format of size with an aspect ratio (height: width) of 1: R, (the value of R can be between 2.75cm and 3.75 cm.) After adjusting to the required size, the signature must cover 70-80% of the image.	The maximum pixel resolution is 580 × 180 pixels and the minimum resolution is 250 × 80 pixels. The file size must be a minimum of 3 kB and a maximum of 1 MB.

GATE 2025 Application Fee

IIT Roorkee is yet to announce the GATE 2025 application fee. However, keeping the past trends in concern, here is the expected category-wise application fees detail:

Who is Conducting GATE 2025?

While IIT Roorkee is the organizing body for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2025, the exam will be conducted by seven IITs including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee; and IISc Bangalore at the behest of the National Coordination Board- GATE, Dept. of Higher Education, Ministry of Education; Government of India.

GATE 2025 Eligibility Criteria

You are eligible for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, 2025 if you have completed or are currently enrolled in the final year of your Bachelor’s degree course in Engineering, Technology, Humanities, or Science from a recognized institution, or university. Besides, both Indian citizens and foreign nationals are permitted to take this exam. No age limit is specified by the conducting authority implying candidates from diverse age groups can register and appear for GATE.

Also, students who are enrolled with any professional institutions or bodies as per MHRD OM (NO.11-15/2011-AR (TS.II) with their permanent recognition up to May 31st, 2013 are recognized and eligible to apply.

GATE Registration Form Under Scrutiny- What does that mean?

Do not panic if your GATE 2025 Application Form shows status under scrutiny. According to IISc Bangalore, it is a routine process of verifying whether all details provided by you in the application form are true or not. The concerned authority verifies all the information filled in the registration form to ascertain your eligibility to take the test. If you have submitted the application form along with the fees, you can take the test after the verification status of your application changes to “Approved”.

Ques. Why my GATE Registration showing I am below age for the exam?

Ans. If you are in the third year of your undergraduate degree program or have completed it, are eligible to take the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. Despite meeting this eligibility criteria, if you are facing difficulty filling the GATE Application form 2025, it is advised you clear all the cookies in the browser, close it, and start the process afresh. If the issue persists, create a new account using a new email address or call the helpline number of the authority on a working day.

Ques. Is Distance B.Tech Eligible for GATE 2025?

Ans. Yes, you are eligible to register and appear for the exam while pursuing or after completing any AICTE-recognized course in distance mode. This includes B.E/B.Tech/B.A/B.com/B.Sc/BArch.
