Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission conducted the second phase of the MPPSC Assistant Professor 2026 examination on Aug 02, 2026. The examination was conducted for Hindi, English, Commerce, Political Science, Economics and Sociology subjects. Paper 1 was held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by Paper 2 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Both papers were conducted offline through OMR sheets at examination centres in Indore and Bhopal.

MPPSC Assistant Professor 2026 Exam Pattern

The MPPSC Assistant Professor written examination consisted of two objective-type papers. Paper 1 was common for all candidates, while Paper 2 was based on the concerned subject selected by the candidate.

A total of 200 questions carrying 800 marks were included in the written examination. Each correct answer carried four marks. The written examination will be followed by an interview carrying 100 marks, taking the complete selection process to 900 marks.

The examination was conducted through OMR sheets. Negative marking was applicable in the recruitment examination. Candidates were required to follow the instructions printed on their question booklets for the exact deduction method.

MPPSC Assistant Professor 2026 Subject-Wise Weightage

Paper 2 carried the highest weightage in the examination. It accounted for 600 out of 800 written-examination marks, equivalent to 75% of the written score. Paper 1 contributed the remaining 25%.

Candidates appeared for only one concerned-subject paper. Therefore, every candidate attempted Paper 1 along with the Paper 2 corresponding to their chosen subject.

MPPSC Assistant Professor Paper 1 Topic-Wise Weightage

The commission did not prescribe a fixed number of questions for each Paper 1 unit. The 50 questions were based on the following areas:

Politics and Economy of Madhya Pradesh	State government, Panchayati Raj, demography, industries, agriculture and economic development
Current Affairs	Important Madhya Pradesh, national and international events, awards, sports and government schemes
Information and Communication Technology	Computers, artificial intelligence, cyber security, e-governance, internet and e-commerce

These five areas collectively carried 50 questions and 200 marks. MPPSC did not announce separate unit-wise marks or question counts in advance.
