OICL AO Eligibility Criteria 2025: Check Age Limit & Educational Qualification
OICL AO 2025 eligibility criteria require candidates to be Indian citizens and meet specific educational and age parameters. Graduates or postgraduates can apply for Generalist posts, while Hindi Officer posts require a Master’s in Hindi or equivalent. Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years, with age relaxations for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD categories. Minimum marks in the qualifying degree and basic computer knowledge are also required. Candidates must fulfil all conditions to be eligible for OICL AO 2025.
OICL AO Nationality 2025
A candidate applying for OICL AO 2025 must meet one of the following nationality/citizenship criteria:
- Be a citizen of India.
- Be a subject of Nepal.
- Be a subject of Bhutan.
- Be a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- Be a person of Indian origin (PIO) who migrated from certain countries (e.g., Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, specified East African countries) with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Note: Candidates in categories other than “citizen of India” must provide a valid Eligibility Certificate issued by the Government of India during document verification.
OICL AO Educational Qualification 2025
OICL AO educational qualification requires candidates to fulfil the following parameters:
- For Generalist AO Posts: Graduate / Post Graduate in any stream from a recognised University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.
- For Hindi Officer Posts:
- Master’s Degree from a recognised University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level with 60% marks (for SC/ST 55% marks)
- Master’s Degree from a recognised University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level with 60% marks (for SC/ST 55% marks)
- Master’s Degree from a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, with 60% marks (for SC/ST 55% marks)
- Master’s Degree from a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, with 60% marks (for SC/ST 55% marks)
- Master’s Degree from a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as the compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level, with 60% marks (for SC/ST 55% marks)
Note: Candidates must ensure that their qualifications are from a recognised university, and provisional certificates are acceptable where final marksheets are not yet issued.
OICL AO Age Limit 2025
OICL AO age limit ensures that candidates fall within the prescribed age bracket set by OICL. Applicants must meet the exact age requirements on the date mentioned in the official notification.
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years
OICL AO Age Relaxation 2025
Age relaxation is provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per the Government of India guidelines. Applicants must present valid supporting documents to claim OICL AO 2025 age relaxation benefits, which are given in the table below:

Ques: Are computer skills mandatory for OICL AO 2025?
Ans: Basic computer knowledge is desirable, especially for Specialist AO posts, but it is generally expected that candidates are familiar with MS Office and email usage.
