OICL AO 2025 exam pattern consists of the stages prelims, mains and interview. The Prelims exam is a qualifying stage and includes objective-type questions designed to shortlist candidates for the next round. Those who clear the Prelims become eligible for the Mains Exam, which comprises a mix of objective and descriptive papers for both Generalist and Hindi Officer posts. The Mains exam evaluates candidates’ proficiency and subject knowledge. Candidates shortlisted from the Mains are called for the Interview round, which marks the final stage of the selection process.

Candidates who clear the mains exam will be shortlisted for OICL AO 2025 interview round. The interview evaluates the candidate’s professional competence, communication skills, analytical thinking, decision-making ability, awareness of the insurance and financial sectors, and overall suitability for the role of Administrative Officer.
Candidates must note that the descriptive test of OICL AO 2025 is qualifying in nature and does not count for the final merit list. The final selection will be based on the marks of the mains (objective test) and the interview round in the ratio 80:20, respectively.
Ques: Is there any negative marking in OICL AO 2025?
Ans: Yes, there is negative marking for the prelims round. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. Mains exam does not have any negative marking.
Ques: What type of questions are asked in the descriptive test?
Ans: An essay or a letter is asked to write in the descriptive test. This section assesses the language proficiency of a candidate. Translation and Precis questions will also be there.
