TNPSC application process 2026 will be conducted online by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) through its official website, tnpsc.gov.in. The commission will release TNPSC official notification, which will contain both start and end dates of the application process, correction window, fee payment, and a step-wise guide for the application process. This process involves registration, filling out personal, educational & category details, paying the application fee, and uploading required documents. Candidates meeting the required eligibility criteria for TNPSC must apply.

How to Apply for TNPSC 2026?

TNPSC holds an application process for various groups specific to different government posts, like Group 1, Group 2, Group 4, Engineering Services, Subordinate Services, etc. The application process for TNPSC is given below:

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to the official TNPSC website, tnpsc.gov.in
  2. One-Time Registration (OTR): If you don’t already have a TNPSC registration, you must first complete OTR on the TNPSC online portal. Here, you’ll provide Aadhaar Number, contact information, correct SSLC Register Number and Certificate Number, Month and Year of Passing, Medium of Instruction, and Name of the Board that issued the certificate, and upload your photograph and signature. This registration will generate a TNPSC Register Number. In case you already have the registration number, you can skip this step.
  3. Log in to Application Form: After registration, log in using your registration number and password to the TNPSC application portal.
  4. Select the Notification/Post: Choose the recruitment exam you want to apply for.
  5. Fill in the Application Form: Now, fill in your personal details (name, father’s name, DOB, address), educational qualifications, category/reservation details, choice of exam center, and other information as required for your chosen application posts.
  6. Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of required documents (photograph, signature, educational certificates, community certificates, etc.) in the specified format (size, dimensions, file type).
  7. Pay the Application Fee: Pay the application fee as per your category, through online payment mode.
  8. Review & Submit: Before the final submission, review all entered information carefully. Once submitted, you may not be able to change details. Then, take a printout of the application form.

TNPSC Application Fee 2026

TNPSC OTR fee is Rs. 150 for all exams. However, TNPSC Application Fee depends on the type of exam (Group 1/2/3/Departmental exam, etc.), stage of the selection process (Prelims/Mains), and category-wise concessions. Payment of the application fee has to be made online through Net Banking/Credit card/Debit card/UPI.

Documents Required for TNPSC 2026

TNPSC application form filling requires certain documents, which candidates must have. All documents should be in PDF format, with each file size, except photograph and signature, should be in 200 KB. These documents are given below:

  1. Photograph: A recent color passport-size photograph, not more than 3 months old, having been shot against a white background, showing ears, saved as “photograph.jpg”.
  • Height: 4.5 cm; Width: 3.5 cm;
  • Format: JPG, 20-50 KB, 200 DPI.
  1. Signature: Signature should be:
  • Drawn in a 6 x 2 cm box on white paper and signed within it using black or blue ink.
  • Scan at 200 DPI, crop to show signature only, save 10–20 KB as “Signature.jpg.”
  1. Proof of DOB (Birth certificate, SSLC/Xth mark sheet)
  2. Educational Qualification Certificates / Mark sheets (SSLC, HSC, Degree/Diploma)
  3. Caste / Community Certificate (if applicable)
  4. Disability Certificate (if applicable)
  5. Ex-serviceman Certificate (if applicable)
  6. Aadhaar Card (or proof/link with Aadhaar)
  7. Identity proof (sometimes PAN / Voter ID / Passport)

TNPSC Application Correction Window

TNPSC application correction window will be opened by the Commission after the online application form filling ends. It will be opened for three days on the official website of TNPSC. During this phase, candidates can change their photograph and signature. Candidates must ensure that changes made during the correction window are final. The Commission will not provide any further assistance in correcting their application form.

Candidates must carefully choose their choice of exam, as the application and registration fee are non-refundable by the Commission, even if a candidate’s application is rejected or they do not appear for the exam. Also, they need to make sure that they choose any two nearest exam centers.
