What is the Eligibility Criteria for TNPSC Group I Exam 2024?
All the Candidates are advised to carefully note the eligibility criteria before applying for the TNPSC CCSE Exams. We have provided complete details about the TNPSC CCSE Group I Eligibility criteria in this article.
Age Limit: A candidate for this examination must have attained the age criteria as prescribed below:-
- Minimum age limit: 21 years
- Upper age limit: 34 years (he/she must not have completed 34 years of age).
- The only exception is if the candidate has a Bachelor of Law degree, then he/she can apply for Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Taxes) till 35 years of age.

What is the Application process for the TNPSC Group I 2024?
The online application process for the TNPSC CCSE Group I online application is mentioned below:
- Candidates must register at the official website for one-time registration and sign in using the same TNPSC login ID and password.
- Candidates must accurately mention details like name, educational qualification, post, exam center preference, etc. while submitting the TNPSC Group 1 application form.
- All details in the form must be the same as mentioned in the official records/documents
- Upload scanned copies of the latest passport-size photograph and other documents.
- Pay the application fee. TNPSC's one-time registration fee is Rs. 150 and the application fee to apply for the prelims exam fee is Rs. 100.
- TNPSC Group 1 application fee can be paid in any mode including online or offline methods.

Important Points for TNPSC CCSE Group I Prelims 2024
- Mode of Papers: Offline
- Exam paper language: Tamil and English
- The paper is objective and will have multiple-choice questions of 1.5 mark each.
- All the questions will have 4 options. Candidates must select only one response for each question and mark it in the Answer Sheet.
- Negative Marking: No negative marking
- Prelims is meant to serve as a screening test only and the marks obtained in it by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.
- Minimum qualifying cutoff marks:
- SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs: 90 Marks
- Others: 120 Marks
- After qualifying the TNPSC CCSE (Group-I Services) Prelims exam, the candidates will be admitted to the Main Written Examination which will be about 20 times the approximate number of vacancies to be filled.

Important Points for TNPSC CCSE Group I Mains 2024
- Mode of Papers: Offline

TNPSC CCSE Group I Interview
- The Interview will be of 100 marks (no minimum qualifying marks).
- Marks obtained in the Main Written exam, and Interview will be added. In the final cutoff marks will be given from 850 marks.
- The final selection will be made based on the total marks obtained by the candidates in the Main Written Examination Paper II, Paper III, Paper IV and Interview taken together, subject to the rule of reservation of appointments. Candidates will be allowed to participate in the counseling based on his / her rank.
- Candidates will be allotted to the various services considering their ranks in the examination and their preference for the various services/posts.

What is the Selection Process for the TNPSC Group I Exam 2024?
The selection of the candidates is done based on a three-stage exam process that is Prelims, Mains Written Exam, and Interviews. The following are the stages of the TNPSC CCSE Group I Selection process.
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination
All the aspirants must qualify the prelims exam to proceed to the next stage. The total mark for this stage is 200. This is an important foundation stage and is a qualifying round for all the candidates. There will be a single paper of objective type.
Stage 2: Mains Written Exam
This is the most important stage to clear the examination. The selection of the candidates is dependent on this stage. The total mark for this stage is 750. There will be 4 papers but marks of only 3 papers will be considered for the final cutoff.
Stage 3: Interview
The selected candidates must appear for the Interview round. The marks for this stage are 100. After the Interview a final list will be prepared for the selected candidates out of 850 marks (Written 750 and Interview 100). Thy will be posted based on their performance in overall rank with options to choose their preferences for posting during the personal interview round.

What is the salary of the TNPSC Group I Officer?
The basic per month salary given to TNPSC Group 1 officers starts from Rs. 56100 (including TA, DA, and HRA will be extra). The maximum salary offered to a cabinet secretary is Rs. 177500.
