TNPSC Group 2 eligibility criteria or also known as Combined Civil Services Examination-II (CCSE-II) will be specified in the official notification by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC). The candidates should have 10+2 qualifications from an educational institution recognized by the Tamil Nadu State government or Central Government of India and must be between 18-30 years of age.

TNPSC Group 2 Eligibility Criteria 2025: Nationality

TNPSC Group 2 exam includes several posts. The primary criteria of application process for any of the posts is the nationality of the candidates. The applicant must be a permanent citizen of India. Here are the other guidelines for the candidates who are residents of India from foreign countries:

A citizen of India
A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
A Tibetian refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India
A person who has an Indian Origin and has migrated from countries like Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia to permanently settle in India.

Note: The applicant belonging to categories 3 or 4 or 2 should also obtain a certificate of eligibility given by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

The candidates from the state of Tamil Nadu will be given more preference than the rest of the Indian candidates.

TNPSC Group 2 Eligibility Criteria- Age Limit and Relaxation

To apply for the TNPSC Group 2 exam 2025, candidates must be within the age limit for the post. The age limit for the TNPSC Group 2 exam is 18-30 years except for the posts of Sub-Registrar Grade 2, Probation Officer, and Junior Employment Officer (Differently Abled).

On the other hand, the age limit for the post of Deputy Commercial Tax officer is 18 to 30 years. However, for candidates who have completed a Law degree, the upper age limit is 32 years for general candidates and 37 years for reserved categories.

TNPSC Group 2 Age Relaxation

There is no upper age relaxation provided to the candidates belonging to ST, SC, OBC, Most Backward Classes/ Denotified Communities and Destitute Widows.
Age relaxation up to 10 years above the upper age limit is given to candidates who have more than 40% disability.
The maximum age limit for ex-servicemen is 48 years.
The maximum age limit is 35 years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST, Most Backward Classes/ Denotified Communities, Backward Classes, and Destitute Widows.

Note: The age concession does not apply to the ex-servicemen applicants who have already been recruited to any class or service or category.

Required Experience and Number of Attempts for TNPSC Group 2

No such requirement for any professional experience is required to apply for TNPSC Group 2. The educational qualification required for the TNPSC Group 2 various posts must be fulfilled.
There is no restriction on the number of attempts which simply means a candidate can apply for the exam till the maximum age limit exceeds.

Not fulfilling the age and educational qualifications of the post will result in immediate disqualification of the candidate from the selection process. The eligible applicant will be able to download the admit card for the TNPSC Group 2 exam.
