TNPSC Group 4 Exam Pattern assesses candidates’ general knowledge, aptitude ability and English/Tamil language proficiency for various posts such as Village Administrative Officer (VAO), Junior Assistant, Typist, Steno-Typist, and Forest Department posts. etc. Its exam pattern has a written test, which is followed by Document Verification (DV). The written test is conducted offline with Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) and has 3 subjects Tamil Eligibility-com-scoring Test, General Studies, and Aptitude Test. This test will be for SSLC or Class 10th Standard.

TNPSC Group 4 written test is a single-stage, objective-type test conducted in offline (OMR-based) mode. The written test exam pattern is given below:

TNPSC Group 4 Selection Process 2026

TNPSC Group 4 selection process is done in the following stages:

  • Written test- Marks are counted to decide the final merit
  • Document Verification- Conducted to verify the details given by candidates.

In TNPSC Group 4, Part A (Tamil Eligibility-cum-Scoring Test) is qualifying in nature. Only after qualifying Part A will Parts B (General Studies) and C (Aptitude & Mental Ability) be evaluated. The final merit will be prepared based on the marks obtained in Parts A, B, and C.
