BPSC Eligibility Criteria 2026, Age Limit

The age limit for BPSC 72nd Prelims 2026 Examination is calculated as on August 1, 2026. Candidates must be between 21 and 37 years of age to apply. Age relaxation is provided up to 40 years for EBC, and BC categories, and up to 42 years for SC, ST, and persons with disabilities (PwBD). Women and other reserved category candidates also receive age relaxations as per the Bihar government rules.

Important points regarding BPSC 2026 Age Limit

  • As per official rules, there is no constraint on the number of attempts as long as the candidates’ age criteria are crossed.
  • For government representatives who have been in continuous service for at least three years:
    • The number of Attempts is three.
    • The rest of the Upper Age Limit is 5 years.
  • For Persons with Disabilities (PwD), the higher age limit is relaxed by ten years.
  • Ex-servicemen, under the age of 53 to 55, can avail BPSC age relaxation of three years plus the number of years in service.

  • A Graduate Degree from a recognized University or
  • An equivalent qualification
