JKPSC Eligibility 2026 has been defined by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission in its official notification for the Combined Competitive Examination. Candidates who wish to apply must meet the prescribed eligibility conditions for JKPSC exam 2026, which include nationality, domicile, age, and educational qualifications. Only candidates who are domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and fulfill the age and qualification requirements will be considered eligible.

JKPSC Nationality and Domicile Eligibility 2026

To be eligible for JKPSC CCE 2026, a candidate must satisfy both nationality and domicile requirements:

  • The applicant must be a citizen of India.
  • The applicant must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
  • A valid Domicile Certificate of J&K issued by the competent authority is mandatory to prove domicile status at the time of application and document verification.

Without fulfilling these conditions, candidates will not be allowed to appear in the examination, even if other eligibility requirements are met.

JKPSC Age Limit 2026

As per the official notification, the age limit will be calculated on 1st January 2025. The minimum and maximum age allowed for different categories is as follows:

  • Open Merit (OM): Candidates must be between 21 and 32 years. They should not be born after 01.01.2004 and not before 01.01.1993.
  • Reserved Category & In-service Candidates: The maximum age is 34 years (not born before 01.01.1991 and not after 01.01.2004).
  • Physically Challenged Candidates: The maximum age is 35 years (not born before 01.01.1990 and not after 01.01.2004).

This means all candidates must be at least 21 years old as of 1st January 2025, while the upper age limit varies depending on their category.

JKPSC Age Relaxation 2026

Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) provides age relaxation to certain categories of candidates as per rules. Below is the detailed relaxation allowed in the upper age limit:

JKPSC Educational Qualification 2026

To be eligible for JKPSC Combined Competitive Examination 2026, a candidate must meet the following educational requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree Requirement:
    • The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university in India.
    • Degrees from foreign universities are also valid if they are declared equivalent by the Government in consultation with JKPSC.
  2. Final Year/Appearing Candidates:
    • Candidates who are in the final year of their Bachelor’s Degree are also eligible, provided they can submit proof of passing before the last date of filling the application form (24.09.2026).
    • They must have cleared their degree by the time they apply for the Main Examination, otherwise, they will not be allowed to appear.
  3. MBBS or Medical Candidates:
    • Candidates who have passed their final professional M.B.B.S. or any other Medical Examination but are yet to complete their internship can also apply.
    • They will be provisionally admitted if they produce a certificate from their University/Institution confirming they have passed the final exam.
    • At the time of the interview, they must submit proof of completing all requirements including the internship.

JKPSC Physical Standards 2026

For candidates applying to J&K Police (Gazetted) Service, meeting certain physical standards is mandatory. The required measurements are:

JKPSC Number of Attempts 2026

JKPSC has fixed the maximum number of attempts a candidate can make for the Combined Competitive Examination. The rules are as follows:

  1. General Candidates (Open Merit): Allowed 6 attempts.
  2. Reserved Categories (RBA, OBCs, LAC/IB, etc.): Allowed 9 attempts.
  3. SC/ST Candidates: No restriction on the number of attempts, provided they are otherwise eligible by age.
  4. Physically Challenged Candidates:
    • If belonging to the General Category, they can avail 9 attempts.
    • If belonging to Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC/RBA, etc.), they will get the same relaxation in attempts as available to those categories.

Note:

  • Appearing in any one paper of the Preliminary Examination will be counted as one attempt.
  • Even if a candidate’s application is later disqualified or cancelled, their appearance will still be counted as an attempt.
