JKSSB Police Constable Eligibility Criteria 2026

Nationality

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • Applicant must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and possess a valid domicile certificate.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed Matriculation (Class 10th) or equivalent from a recognised board/institution.
  • The qualification must be possessed on or before the last date of online application.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 28 years
  • Age As On: 01/01/2025

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation will be applicable as per UT of Jammu & Kashmir Government rules for reserved categories, including SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, and other eligible categories, as mentioned in the official notification.

JKSSB Police Constable Physical Standard Test (PST) 2026

Candidates will be shortlisted for JKSSB Police Constable Physical Standard Test (PST) based on the written examination. The number of candidates shortlisted will be six times the total number of vacancies in each category.

Note:

  • For candidates belonging to the Gorkha Community, the minimum height requirement is relaxable by 2 inches.

  • Only candidates who qualify for the written examination and meet the PST standards will be allowed to appear for the Physical Endurance Test (PET).

JKSSB Police Constable Selection Process 2026

JKSSB Police Constable selection process consists of multiple stages to ensure a fair and merit-based recruitment.

Stage 1: Written Examination

The written examination is the first stage of the selection process. It is an objective-type test designed to assess candidates’ knowledge of General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, English, and Basic Computer Knowledge. Candidates are shortlisted category-wise for the next stage.

Stage 2: Physical Standard Test (PST)

Candidates shortlisted from the written exam will be called for the Physical Standard Test (PST) to verify height, chest (for males), and other physical measurements as per the prescribed standards.
