PM Kisan Status Samman Nidhi Yojana
The government of India's PM Kisan Status Samman Nidhi Yojana initiative provides all farmers with basic income support of up to 6,000 rupees per year. Piyush Goyal announced the plan at India's 2019 Interim Union Budget on February 1, 2019. The Rythu Bandhu system, in which a specific sum is handed directly to qualifying farmers, was originally conceived and implemented by the Telangana government.

In order to boost the income of small and marginal farmers, the government has introduced a new Central Sector Scheme called "Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN)" this fiscal year. The PM-KISAN plan intends to complement SMFs' financial needs for different inputs in order to achieve good crop health and yields, which are comparable with expected farm revenue at the conclusion of each crop cycle. This would also keep them out of the hands of moneylenders and allow them to continue farming.
PM Kisan Status Samman Nidhi Yojana Eligibility Criteria
There are certain eligibility criteria that need to be fulfilled by the landowner or farmers to avail the benefits of this scheme:
- Aadhaar number, bank account number, and mobile number (Contact Information), among other things. Like, Details about the land records.
- Caste Certificate - Social Classification
- The landowner's name, gender, and address are all stored in the database. - The owner of the lander must be listed in the official database.
- The identification of eligible beneficiaries and incompetent applicants will be aided by the use of the Jan Dhan Bank Account Number, Aadhaar Number, and Mobile Number.
Farmers That aren't Eligible for the Program
- Those who own agricultural land but are subject to income taxes.
- Doctors, CPAs, lawyers, engineers, and architects are examples of professionals.
- Retired employees with a pension of more than Rs 10,000.
- Ministers of the central and state governments, parliaments, MLAs, MLCs, mayors, and current and former Zilla Panchayat presidents are not eligible to participate in the plan.

Farmers must seek a nodal officer or a local revenue officer (patwari) (nominated by the state government). Farmers can also register for the Scheme via Common Service Centres (CSCs) after paying the required fees.

With effect from June 1, 2019, the Scheme was amended and extended to all farmer families, regardless of the size of their landholdings.
