RPF Constable Eligibility 2026: Check Age Limit, Qualification, PMT & PET
RPF Constable eligibility 2026 defines the essential conditions that candidates must meet to apply for the said exam. The criteria that are set through Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) Directorate, under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, include age limits, educational qualifications, nationality rules, and physical fitness standards. Candidates within the age limit of 18-28 years, passed their Class 10th exam from a recognized board, are eligible to apply for RPF Constable 2026 exam before the last date.
RPF Constable Nationality 2026
Candidates appearing for Railway Protection Force (RPF) Constable must be citizens of India. Candidates from foreign countries like Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh etc, are not eligible to apply for RPF Constable 2026 exam.
RPF Constable Age Limit 2026
Candidates from the unreserved category, willing to appear for RPF Constable, must fall within the age range of 18 to 23 years at the time of notification. For other category candidates, RRB has provided age relaxation, which is given below:

RPF Constable Educational Qualification 2026
Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) requires the candidates appearing for Railway Protection Force (RPF) Constable 2026 must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation/SSLC) or its equivalent from a recognized board or institution.
RPF Constable Physical Standards 2026
All candidates (Male/Female) who qualify RPF Constable CBT exam are to appear for the Physical standards as set by RRB. These physical standards test a candidate's fitness for RPF Constable posts. Male candidates will undergo both height and weight measurements. But Female candidates are to undergo only height measurement.

RPF Constable Physical Efficiency Test 2026
Candidates, after qualifying RPF Constable CBT, will be called to give their physical efficiency tests. These tests include run, long jump, and high jump. The standards of PMT for males and females are given below:

Note:
- For the 1600/800 meters event, only one chance will be given. For the remaining events, that is, Long Jump and High Jump, the candidates will be given up to 2 chances each.
- Ex-servicemen shall be exempted from PET. However, they will have to undergo PMT.
- A Candidate must qualify in all tests as per the above norms to be eligible for consideration.
- Male candidates who do not have a minimum height shall not be considered for the measurement of chest and shall be treated as disqualified.
- All the candidates qualifying in 1600 meters/800 meters will be measured for eligibility with respect to height and chest.
RPF Constable Medical Requirements 2026
Candidates qualified in PMT/PET will be called to give their medical fitness, which will be conducted by CRPF Medical Officers/Grade 1 Govt Medical Officers. Candidates need to ensure the following medical standards:
- Candidates must qualify under Medical Category ‘B-1’ as defined in the Indian Railway Medical Manual.
- Candidates wearing corrective glasses (spectacles) are not eligible for appointment.
- Those with flat feet or knock knees will be declared unfit.
- Candidates having squint eyes or color blindness are not considered fit for service.
- Any other bodily infirmity affecting physical efficiency or mobility may lead to disqualification.
Candidates qualified in the PMT & PET of RPF Constable exam are called for document verification at the regional Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) head offices. Here, the candidate’s educational certificates, age proof, category certificate, and other credentials are meticulously matched with the information provided in the application form.
