IBPS PO Age Limit 2026

To appear for IBPS PO 2026, candidates must be a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of 30 years old. They must be born August 2, 1995, and before August 1, 2005. However, age relaxation is provided based on the category that belongs to the reservation.

  1. Commission Officers, which includes ECOs and SSCOs who have gained at least five years of experience in armed forces services and have been released on assignment (completed or due within a year), had an age relaxation of 5 years.
  2. Candidates from the ST category with a physical disability have an age relaxation of 15 years.
  3. Candidates who aspire to avail of relaxation benefits need to upload supporting documents at any stage of recruitment on the official website of IBPS PO.
  4. Ex-serviceman in Cadre Officers are not entitled to any reservation.

IBPS PO Educational Qualification 2026

A graduation from a recognised Indian university is a must with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.

Points to Remember

  1. Dates in graduation certificates are official passing years for DV authorities; a candidate should be passed before August 2026.
  2. The candidate should have the passing certificate in hard copy. Attesting a graduation certificate from Director/Dean is mandatory if the candidate has it in digital format.
  3. The qualifying percentage should not be semester/year-wise, but the aggregate percentage in a round-off format is accepted. For example, a candidate's percentage of 79.94 would be considered 80%.

IBPS PO Nationality 2026

  1. Candidates must be permanent citizens of India
  2. The subject of Bhutan or Nepal.
  3. A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.

IBPS PO Work Experience 2026

IBPS does not ask for work experience from the candidates applying for the IBPS PO exam 2026. Disclosing one’s work experience is completely optional, but IBPS expects candidates to have basic computer operations experience and fluency in communication, written or verbal English.

  2. Date of Birth proof can be verified with the help of the original and printout of the Birth certificate by the respective region Municipal Corporation.
  3. Educational Certificates of XI, XII, and Graduation degree original and print copy and Attesting a digital graduation certificate from an institutional authority is mandatory.
  4. A caste certificate, Interview call letter, and IBPS PO Admit Card are mandatory for all categories General/SC/ST/OBC to bring to the Interview center.
  5. Income and total assets certificates attested by the local government are mandatory to bring by candidates who opt for the EwS category.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria: Ex-Serviceman Criteria

Candidates who have served or served in India's Armed Forces can claim minor redemptions IBPS PO 2026 exam. Here are the eligibility criteria for the Ex-serviceman category.

  • Candidates serving in the armed forces can claim the exemption in services (actual length) additional three years in the maximum age limit.
  • Ex-servicemen belonging to SC/ST category can further increase the length of service up to eight years if the candidate has become disabled.
  • The maximum age relaxation for Ex-servicemen is 50 years but not for those who have already been exempted from restraining employment higher than Group C and D.
  • Ex-servicemen with a disability, along with the SC/ST category, are supposed to apply under "Disabled Ex-serviceman", not the PwD category, to be fair.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria for Using Scribe

Candidates with any permanent disability that hinders them with writing can opt for a scribe. However, they must abide by certain rules to appear in IBPS PO Eligibility for the 2026 Exam.

  • Candidates must bring a scribe from any educational background to their own cost.
  • Candidate and scribe must confirm an undertaking saying that a scribe meets all the eligibility curated by IBPS PO exam authorities. In any case, if the candidate fails to prove scribe's desired eligibility, their candidature will be canceled IBPS PO 2026 exam.

Locomotor Disability and Cerebral Palsy:

Candidates with severe (minimum 40%) Locomotor Disability and Cerebral Palsy can have 20 additional minutes per hour or otherwise advised. A candidate must be affected by extremities of the condition, and slowing of performance functions must be justified to avail compensatory time.

  3. Obtaining help or restoring connection with other candidates while giving exams.
  4. Carrying prohibited electronic items such as mobile phones, earplugs, digital watches, or neckbands can lead to straight disqualification.
  5. The similarity of pattern, right or wrong responses of two or more candidates threatens their candidature. A candidate must not be found guilty of cheating to secure the best interest of the IBPS PO exam.
