LIC AAO Eligibility Criteria 2026: Check Age Limit & Qualifications

LIC AAO Age Limit 2026

As per LIC AAO 2026 notification, the minimum and maximum age limits are fixed to ensure that only suitable candidates apply.

• Minimum Age: 21 years (completed as on 01 August 2026)
• Maximum Age: 30 years (as on 01 August 2026)

This means candidates must have been born not earlier than 02 August 1996 and not later than 01 August 2005 (both dates inclusive).

Any candidate falling outside this age range will not be eligible to apply.

LIC AAO Age Relaxation 2026

Life Insurance Corporation of India provides certain relaxations in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to reserved categories, ex-servicemen, and LIC employees. The details are as follows:

LIC AAO Educational Qualification 2026

LIC AAO 2026 education qualification varies depending on whether a candidate is applying for the Generalist or Specialist stream. The qualifications must be from a recognized university or institution, and the results should have been declared on or before 01 August 2026.

LIC AAO Generalist Qualification

A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University/Institution.

LIC AAO Specialist Qualification

Specialist roles require specific qualifications as listed below:

AAO (Chartered Accountant):

• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
• Must have passed the Final Examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
• Completion of Articleship as required by ICAI.
• Should be an Associate Member of ICAI with a valid membership number.

AAO (Company Secretary):

• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
• Must be a Qualified Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).

AAO (Actuarial):

• Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
• Must have passed at least 6 papers of the examination conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries,
• UK as on 01 August 2026. Membership number must be provided for verification.

AAO (Insurance Specialist):

• Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
• Professional qualification in Life Insurance (Fellowship of Insurance Institute of India – Life).
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in a Life Insurance Company regulated by IRDAI.

AAO (Legal):

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law with at least 50% marks (aggregate of all semesters/years).
• For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, minimum required marks are 45%.
• Must be enrolled with the Bar Council as an Advocate.
• At least 2 years of post-enrollment experience as an Advocate or as a Law Officer in a bank, financial institution, statutory corporation, company, or government department.

Note:

• No equivalent qualifications will be accepted.
• Candidates must produce proper documents proving the declaration of results on or before 01 August 2026.

LIC AAO 2026 Reservations

LIC follows the Government of India guidelines on reservations and age relaxations for various categories of candidates. This ensures equal opportunity and fair representation for socially and economically disadvantaged groups, ex-servicemen, and employees with special conditions. Below are the detailed provisions:

Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) Candidates

• Age Relaxation: 5 years beyond the upper age limit.
• Minimum Marks Relaxation (Legal Post): SC/ST candidates applying for AAO (Legal) need only 45% marks in Law degree (instead of 50%).
• Other Benefits: Eligible for pre-exam training conducted by LIC at designated centers.

Other Backward Classes (OBC – Non Creamy Layer)

• Age Relaxation: 3 years.
• Other Benefits: Eligible for pre-exam training similar to SC/ST candidates.

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)

• Age Relaxation:
  • PwBD (General): 10 years
  • PwBD (OBC): 13 years
  • PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
• Reservation: 4% horizontal reservation across all posts.
• Additional Facilities in Exam: Eligible to use a scribe (with conditions), compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour in exams, and option of magnified font for visually impaired candidates.

Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officers

• Age Relaxation:
  • General: 5 years
  • OBC: 8 years
  • SC/ST: 10 years
• Eligibility Note: Ex-servicemen must have completed at least 5 years of military service and been released honorably (not due to misconduct or inefficiency).

Confirmed LIC Employees

• Age Relaxation: Additional 5 years in the upper age limit.
• Benefit: Gives preference and opportunity for internal career progression.

Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Candidates

• Reservation: A portion of vacancies is reserved for EWS candidates as per government norms.
• Note: EWS candidates must provide a valid income and asset certificate issued by a competent authority.
