Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released the official notification for the recruitment of Technician Grade 1 Signal and Technician Grade 3 posts across various zones of Indian Railways, announcing a total of 6,238 vacancies. The online application process began on 28 June 2025 and will close on 28 July 2025 (11:59 PM). All applications must be submitted through the official RRB website, and candidates must ensure they meet the required eligibility criteria before applying. Only those candidates who meet the specific age limit, educational qualifications, medical standards, and nationality requirements will be eligible to apply online for RRB Technician 2025.

RRB Technician 2025 Age Limit

RRB Technician 2025 candidates must fall within the age limits specified by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) as of 1 July 2025. The age limit is different for Technician Grade 1 Signal and Technician Grade 3 posts. Additionally, candidates belonging to reserved categories, ex-servicemen, railway staff, apprentices, and certain female applicants are eligible for upper age limit relaxations as per government norms.

Important Notes:

The cut-off date for age calculation is 01 July 2025. All candidates must verify their age eligibility based on this date only.
For Ex-Servicemen, the age relaxation equals the total length of military service + 3 years, but candidates must still fall within the upper age cap defined for the post and category.

RRB Technician 2025 Educational Qualification

RRB Technician 2025 educational qualification varies by post. Candidates applying for Technician Grade 1 Signal and Technician Grade 3 must meet the specific academic and technical qualification criteria as defined in RRB Technician 2025 notification. The required qualification must be completed and issued on or before 28 July 2025, the last date of application submission.

NOTE:

Candidates who are still pursuing their ITI/Diploma/Degree or awaiting final results are not eligible.
Graduate Apprentices are not accepted as substitutes for Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAA).
For Technician Grade 3, Diploma or Degree holders in Engineering are not eligible unless specifically allowed in the post criteria listed in Annexure A.
Some posts under Grade 3 accept 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics, but this is limited to specific job categories only.

RRB Technician 2025 Nationality / Citizenship

RRB Technician should be either

Citizens of India
Citizens of Nepal or Bhutan
Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1 January 1962, intending to settle permanently
Persons of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam, intending to settle in India

NOTE: Candidates belonging to categories other than Indian citizens must possess a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India. This must be submitted at the time of document verification.

RRB Technician 2025 Medical Standards

Medical fitness is a critical part of the RRB Technician 2025 selection process. Candidates who clear the Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Document Verification must undergo a Medical Examination conducted by the Railway Administration. Different Technician posts require different levels of medical fitness, depending on the nature of the job, safety sensitivity, and working conditions.

Notes

Candidates who have undergone LASIK or similar eye surgeries are not eligible for A-3 category posts.
