SBI Clerk 2026 Exam Pattern: Check Details for Prelims and Mains

SBI Clerk Exam Pattern 2026 has been released along with the official notification for the Recruitment of Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales). SBI Clerk 2026 exam pattern contains two levels, i.e., Prelims and Mains Exam, followed by a Local Language Proficiency Test. SBI Clerk 2026 Prelims consists of 100 questions, and Mains consists of 190 questions. Both online exams have section-wise timing and negative marking (1/4th per wrong answer). Only aggregate marks from the Mains Exam determine final selection.

Key Pointers:

• The medium of General English Test will be in English language. Medium of other sections will depend on the state/UT applied for (English, Hindi, and/or regional languages as applicable).
• 1/4th of the marks assigned for question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• There is 5% relaxation in the minimum aggregate marks for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/XS/DXS candidates.

Bonus Marks for Apprentices: Eligible SBI Apprentices will get 5 bonus marks (2.5% of 200) added to their Main Exam score, subject to:

• Engagement on or after 01.01.2022
• Completion of 1-year training by 26.08.2026
• Satisfactory performance and obtaining the National Apprenticeship Certificate.

SBI Clerk Language Proficiency Test 2026

Language Proficiency Test for SBI Clerk 2026 is for the provisionally selected candidates who have not studied (in class 10th or 12th) any of the specified local languages of the State applied, will have to appear in Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT). SBI Clerk 2026 Language Proficiency Test details are mentioned in the table below:

Key Pointers:

• Candidates are required to score minimum qualifying marks as decided by the Bank in the individual test (For SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/XS/DXS candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon).
• There is 5% relaxation in qualifying marks in LPT for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/XS/DXS candidates.

SBI Clerk 2026 Exam Pattern comprises an online Prelims Exam with 100 marks, a Main Exam with 200 marks, and a Language Proficiency Test for eligible candidates. Sectional timing is applicable in both Prelims and Mains. There are no sectional cut-offs, and final merit is based on Mains marks. Negative marking is applied on both Prelims and Mains. The language test is qualifying in nature.
