Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam Result 2026 on June 15, 2026, on its official website. Candidates who appeared for UPSC Prelims Exam conducted on May 24, 2026, can now check their qualifying status in the result PDF, which lists the roll numbers of shortlisted candidates. Those whose roll numbers appear in the list have qualified for the Civil Services (Main) Exam 2026. The recruitment drive is being conducted to fill 933 vacancies.

How to Check UPSC CSE Result 2026?

Candidates should follow these steps to access their UPSC Civil Services Result 2026:

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to the official UPSC website – upsc.gov.in 
  2. Click on the Result Link: On the homepage, look for the link titled “UPSC Civil Services Final Result 2026” under the “What’s New” section or in the “Examinations” tab.
  3. Download the PDF: Click on the result link to open the PDF file. It contains the names of candidates who have been selected.
  4. Save or Print: Download and save the PDF for future reference. You may also print it if needed.

UPSC CSE Result 2026 FAQs

Ques. In what format is UPSC Result published?

Ans. The result is released in the form of a PDF containing only the roll numbers of candidates who have qualified for the Mains exam. The marks and ranks are disclosed only after the final result is announced.

Ques. How is rank allotted in UPSC?

Ans. Your rank in UPSC is determined by your marks in the Mains and Interview rounds. Your UPSC Prelims marks are not counted for the ranking, as it is the only screening stage. As per the ranking of UPSC previous year toppers, we can say that toppers get more than 900 scores in total.

Ques. What happens after the UPSC final result?

Ans. UPSC releases the marksheet of all successful candidates. Later, they received a call letter to join the foundation course at LBSNAA in Mussoorie.

Ques. Are the prelims marks counted for the final selection?

Ans. No, UPSC Prelims score is not counted for the final merit list. It is qualifying in nature for the mains round. 

Ques. How many IAS are selected every year?

Ans. Every year, 180 IAS officers are selected through UPSC CSE exam.
