IBPS Clerk Eligibility 2026 is set by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) and is outlined in the official notification. IBPS Clerk Nationality 2026

To be eligible for IBPS Clerk 2026 CRP CSA-XV exam, a candidate must be either:

  • Citizen of India or,
  • A subject of Nepal or,
  • A subject of Bhutan or,
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 intending to permanently settle in India or,
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

IBPS Clerk Age Limit 2026

To be eligible for IBPS Clerk 2026 exam, a candidate must fulfil the following age criteria:

  • Minimum Age: 20 years
  • Maximum Age: 28 years
  • A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.07.1998 and not later than 01.07.2006
  • Note: Age will be calculated as on 1 July 2026.

Age relaxations for upper age limit for different categories is mentioned in the table below:

PwBD +10 years
Ex-Servicemen (ESM) / Disabled Ex-Servicemen (DESM) Actual period of service rendered in the defence forces + 3 years (8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST), subject to a maximum age limit of 50 years.
Widows, divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried Age concession up to the age of 35 years for General/EWS, 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC/ST candidates.

IBPS Clerk Educational Qualification 2026

Candidates applying for IBPS Clerk 2026 CRP CSA-XV exam must have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum Qualification: A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
  • Result Requirement: Candidates must have their valid mark-sheet/degree certificate on the day of registration and must enter the percentage of marks obtained while applying.
  • Local Language: Candidates applying for a particular State/UT should be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the local language of that State/UT.
  • Computer Literacy:

    Operating and working knowledge of computer systems is mandatory.

    Candidates should have:

  • A Certificate/ Diploma/ Degree in computer operations or
  • Have studied Computer/IT as one of the subjects in school/college.
  • For Ex-Servicemen: If they don’t meet the above academic qualifications, they should at least be matriculated with an Army Special Certificate of Education (or its Navy/Air Force equivalent) after completing 15 years of service.

IBPS Clerk 2026 Reservations for PwBD

Under section 34 of “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016”, persons with benchmark disabilities are eligible for Reservation. Reservations provided to PwBD candidates in IBPS Clerk 2026 are mentioned below:

Visual Impairment (“VI” Category)

Candidates with the following conditions are allowed to apply for Visual Impairment (“VI” Category):

  1. Blindness:
  • Total absence of sight; OR
  • Visual acuity less than 3/60 or less than 10/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible correction; OR
  • Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of less than 10 degrees. OR
  1. Low Vision:
  • Visual acuity not exceeding 6/18 or less than 20/60 up to 3/60 or upto 10/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible corrections; OR
  • The limitation of the field of vision subtends an angle of less than 40 degrees up to 10 degrees.

Hearing Impaired (“HI” Category)

  • Deaf: A person having 70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears.
  • Hard of Hearing: A person having 60 DB to 70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears.

Orthopedically Challenged/ Locomotor Disability (“OC” / “LD”) Category

Orthopedically challenged persons are covered under locomotor disability. This category includes the following conditions:

  1. Leprosy cured person: A person who has been cured of leprosy but is suffering from:
  • Loss of sensation in hands or feet as well as loss of sensation and paresis in the eye and eyelid, but with no manifest deformity.
  • Manifest deformity and paresis, but having sufficient mobility in their hands and feet to enable them to engage in normal economic activity.
  • Extreme physical deformity as well as advanced age which prevents him/her from undertaking any gainful occupation.
  1. Cerebral palsy: A group of non-progressive neurological conditions affecting body movements and muscle coordination, caused by damage to one or more specific areas of the brain, usually occurring before, during or shortly after birth.
  1. Dwarfism: A medical or genetic condition resulting in an adult height of 4 feet 10 inches (147 centimetres) or less.
  1. Muscular dystrophy: A group of hereditary genetic muscle disease that weakens the muscles that move the human body, and people with multiple dystrophy have incorrect and missing information in their genes, which prevents them from making the proteins they need for healthy muscles.
  1. Acid attack victims: A person disfigured due to violent assaults by the throwing of acid or similar corrosive substance.

Intellectual Disability (“ID” Category)

Only those candidates, who suffer from any one of the following types of disabilities, are eligible to apply under this category:

  1. Autism Spectrum disorder (ASD): A neuro-developmental condition typically appearing in the first three years of life that significantly affects a person's ability to communicate, understand relationships and relate to others, and is frequently associated with unusual or stereotypical rituals or behaviours.
  2. Specific Learning Disability” (SLD): A heterogeneous group of conditions wherein there is a deficit in processing language, spoken or written, that may manifest itself as a difficulty to comprehend, speak, read, write, spell, or to do mathematical calculations and includes such conditions as perceptual disabilities, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia and developmental aphasia.
  3. Mental Illness (MI): A substantial disorder of thinking, mood, perception, orientation or memory that grossly impairs judgment, behaviour, capacity to recognise reality or ability to meet the ordinary demands of life, but does not include retardation which is a condition of arrested or incomplete development of mind of a person, specially characterised by sub normality of intelligence.

Multiple Disabilities

Candidates having multiple disabilities as of the above will fall under this category.

Guidelines for PwBD Candidates Using a Scribe

Candidates using a scribe are advised to go through the following guidelines:

  • The candidate will have to arrange their own scribe at their own cost.
  • Both the candidate as well as scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking confirming that the scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe.
  • Deliberate Wrong information about the candidate/ scribe in the declaration form submitted at the time of online application or at the time of examination or at any stage would render the candidate and scribe being debarred either permanently or for a specified period.
  • Those candidates who are eligible to use scribe facility shall be eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes. Only candidates registered for compensatory time (at the time of online registration) will be allowed such concessions.
  • The scribe arranged by the candidate should not be a candidate for the online examination under (CRP-CSA-XV).
  • Candidates eligible for and who wish to use the services of scribe in the examination should invariably carefully indicate the same in the online application form.
  • A Scribe can act as Scribe only for one candidate for CRP CSA-XV process.
