IBPS SO (Specialist Officer) 2025 exam, conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, of which Prelims is scheduled to be held on August 30, 2025, for the recruitment of Specialist Officers in various participating public sector banks. The computer-based test will assess candidates on reasoning, English language, quantitative aptitude, professional knowledge, and general awareness (with a focus on banking).

IBPS SO 2025 selection process comprises three stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Interview. The prelims are an online screening test covering English Language, Reasoning, and either Quantitative Aptitude or General Awareness (depending on the post), and their scores are not counted in the final merit. The main focus is on professional knowledge in the chosen specialization, with objective and, in some cases, descriptive questions. Candidates qualifying in the mains are called for an interview conducted by participating banks, which assesses subject expertise, communication skills, and overall suitability. The final merit list is prepared by giving 80% weightage to mains marks and 20% to interview performance, followed by document verification and medical fitness before appointment.
