To appear for REET exam (Level 1 or Level 2):

Candidates must be between 21 and 40 years old as of a specified cutoff date (as of January 1, 2027), with upper age limit relaxations provided for reserved categories.

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible for REET 2026 Level 1:

• Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
• Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year D.El.Ed, in accordance with NCTE norms.
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
• Graduation with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or appearing in the final year of the diploma course.

REET 2026 Level 2 (Classes 6 to 8, Upper Primary Teacher)

Candidates must satisfy one of these qualifications to be eligible for REET 2026 Level 2:

• Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
• Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed, as per NCTE regulations.
• Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
