- December 12, 2025: Ministry of Railways has released the RRB Exam Calendar 2026 detailing tentative schedules for major railway exams, vacancy assessment, OIRMS indenting, and draft CEN proposals. It also announces Nodal RRBs for each recruitment category. Check Details
RRB has revised vacancies for the posts of Junior Engineer/Depot Material Superintendent/Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant for RRB/Chennai and RRB/Jammu-Srinagar. Thereby, RRB Revised Vacancies stand at 2,585. Candidates who have applied under these zones can modify their option of chosen RRB and their preference of post, Zonal Railway(s)/Production Unit without any modification fees, by using there login credentials. With this, RRB has now extended the closing date of online application to December 10, 2025, and the last date to pay online application fee is December 12, 2025.

RRB JE 2025 Online Application Process started from October 31, 2025. Its detailed notification was released on October 28, 2025 for CEN 05/2025 covering posts of Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA). Eligible candidates with a degree or diploma in engineering (for JE/DMS) or a BSc with Physics & Chemistry (for CMA), and an age between 18 to 33 years (with age relaxation for reserved category), can apply before the last date.

RRB JE Eligibility Criteria 2025
RRB JE 2025 Eligibility Criteria is based on the parameters of age, nationality, and educational qualification. Applications of candidates found ineligible on any of these grounds will be disqualified.
RRB JE Nationality Criteria
RRB JE 2025 Nationality criteria include candidates with the following nationality:
- Citizen of India
- Subjects of Nepal/Bhutan ( Certificate of eligibility must be issued by the Government of India).
- Persons of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam) with the intention of permanent settlement in India ( Certificate of eligibility must be issued by the Government of India).
RRB JE Age Limit
RRB JE 2025 Age Limit for candidates is a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 33 years as on January 1, 2026. Upper Age relaxation is, however, possible for certain categories. Check the table below for the upper age limit of certain categories:

RRB JE Application Process 2025
RRB JE 2025 Application Process begins on October 31, 2025, and will end on November 30, 2025. Eligible candidates can complete RRB JE Application Process through the official website by following the steps below:
Step 1: Go to the official website of RRB to select the ‘RRB JE Apply’ tab.
Step 2: Register on the portal by providing the information asked.
Step 3: Upload photograph, signature and other necessary documents in the specified format.
Step 4: Proceed to pay the fee in the online mode through BHIM UPI/internet banking or by using a credit/debit card of Visa/Mastercard/Maestro/RuPay. The application fee for various categories are:

RRB JE Selection Process 2025
RRB JE 2025 Selection Process happens in stages of 2 computer-based tests followed by a document verification and medical examination. CBT 1 acts as a primary screening stage, evaluated out of 100 marks. Candidates qualifying CBT 1 will be eligible for the CBT 2 exam, which is evaluated out of 150. Shortlisted candidates are later recommended for document verification and medical tests in government-recognized hospitals. The final merit list does not include the marks of CBT 1.
