RRB JE Exam Pattern 2025 is divided into two stages, namely, CBT 1 and CBT 2. CBT 1 acts as the Primary stage and is a qualifying exam for the subsequent stages of RRB JE 2025. Those qualifying CBT 1 will be eligible for CBT 2 exam. Both stages contain negative marking. ⅓ marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. Candidates qualifying CBT 2 will be shortlisted for document verification and medical examination. The medical standard for RRB JE mainly considers certain vision standards.

RRB JE CBT 2 has 150 Multiple Type Questions (MCQs), with each question carrying 1 mark. While CBT 1 acts as a screening test, CBT 2 determines the final rank list. Candidates applying for RRB JE exam must possess a three-year Diploma or a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in specific disciplines. These technical abilities are given below:

Candidates will be recommended for a document verification (DV) and medical examination after qualifying the CBT 2 stage. The medical standards are mainly based on vision standards. This examination includes conducting tests to check the standards of the respective posts the candidate has qualified for.
Candidates will get a total of 90 minutes for CBT 1 and 2 hours for CBT 2 exam. Time management therefore, must be practised. Those who qualify CBT 1 will be shortlisted for CBT 2 and subsequent stages of RRB JE 2025.
Ques: Which sections have more weightage in CBT 1?
Ans: CBT 1 exam has a total of five sections, in which Mathematics and General Science sections have more weightage. They both contribute 30 marks each.
Ques: Does RRB JE have descriptive questions?
Ans: RRB JE does not have descriptive questions. The questions for both rounds are objective computer-based tests and is conducted online.
Ques: What is the minimum percentage of marks required for eligibility in RRB JE exam?
Ans: The minimum qualifying percentage of marks required for eligibility in RRB JE exam varies by category. For UR-40%, EWS-40%, OBC(NCL)-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. This is also applicable to Ex-servicemen candidates, as per their community. This percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2 marks for PwBD candidates, in case of a shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.

Ans: No, RRB JE does not have an interview stage. The exam happens in the form of 2 computer-based tests, followed by a document verification and medical examination.
