SSC CPO eligibility criteria 2025 define who is qualified to participate in the recruitment process and include conditions related to age, educational qualifications, nationality, and physical and medical standards.It is a set of important rules and qualifications that candidates must meet before filling SSC CPO application form. These criteria ensure that only qualified individuals are considered for the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) like CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB.

Nationality

To be eligible for SSC CPO 2025 exam, a candidate must be a citizen of India or fall under specific nationality conditions as laid out by the Government of India.

A candidate must be one of the following:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or

Note: Candidates who are not Indian citizens must produce a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India at the time of final appointment.

SSC CPO 2025 Age Limit

To apply for the SSC CPO 2025 exam, candidates must be between 20 and 25 years of age as of the specified cut-off date mentioned in the official notification.

This means the candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.2001 and not later than 01.08.2006 (both dates inclusive).

SSC CPO Age Relaxation

SSC provides age relaxation in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to reserved categories and special groups, as per government rules.

SSC CPO 2025 Educational Qualification

SSC CPO 2025 aspirants must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent institution. This is the minimum educational qualification required for all posts under SSC CPO recruitment 2025, including Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs (BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, and SSB). There is no minimum percentage requirement. Passing the degree is enough.

Special Requirement for Delhi Police

In addition to the graduation requirement, male candidates applying for the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police (Executive) must also possess a valid Driving License for Light Motor Vehicle (LMV).

  • This driving license must be issued on or before the date of the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT).
  • Candidates without a valid LMV license will be disqualified from the Delhi Police SI post but may still be eligible for CAPF posts.

Note: Female candidates applying for Delhi Police SI are not required to have a driving license.

SSC CPO 2025 Physical Standards Required

Candidates applying for the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs must meet certain minimum physical standards set by SSC. Failing to meet these physical measurements will lead to disqualification from the recruitment process, regardless of educational qualification or exam performance.

For Male Candidates:

Relaxations in Physical Standards

SSC allows relaxation in physical standards for candidates belonging to specific categories and regions, as listed below:

  • Hill areas, Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas.
  • Candidates from North-Eastern States, Scheduled Tribes, STs of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and States of Jammu & Kashmir.

Note: The relaxation is applicable only if the candidate provides valid certificates issued by the competent authority at the time of PET/PST.

SSC CPO 2025 Physical Endurance Test (PET) Requirements

After clearing Paper-I of the SSC CPO 2025 exam, shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the Physical Endurance Test (PET). This test checks a candidate’s physical fitness and stamina, and is mandatory for all posts under Delhi Police and CAPFs.

Important Notes:

  • No PET will be held for Ex-Servicemen. However, they will still have to undergo a Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Medical Exam.
  • PET is conducted by CAPF authorities, and the decision of the board conducting PET/PMT will be final.

Medical Standards for SSC CPO 2025

After qualifying the Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests (PET/PST), candidates must undergo a medical examination to ensure they are physically and medically fit for service in the Delhi Police and CAPFs. The medical exam is conducted by authorised doctors or medical boards assigned by CAPFs.

Eyesight Standards (Without Correction – i.e., without glasses or contact lenses):

Candidates who use spectacles or have undergone eye correction surgery (like LASIK) are not eligible. Vision must be unaided.

General Health Conditions:

Candidates must not have any of the following:

  • Knock knee
  • Flat foot
  • Squint in eyes
  • Colour blindness
  • Varicose vein
  • Any chronic disease or physical deformity that may interfere with field duty

Physical and Mental Fitness:

  • Candidates must be in sound mental and physical health.
  • There should be no evidence of any defect that could interfere with the efficient performance of duties.

Review Medical Examination (RME)

  • Candidates declared unfit during DME can appeal for a Review Medical Examination (RME).
  • The appeal must be submitted within the time limit prescribed by SSC along with the required fee and documents.
  • RME will be conducted only once, and the decision made in RME will be final.

The Detailed Medical Examination is conducted by CAPFs or other authorized medical boards, and candidates must follow the instructions strictly. Failure to meet the required medical standards will result in disqualification, even if the candidate has cleared all previous stages.
