Staff Selection Commission has started the recruitment process for SSC Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) Examination 2026 with the release of the official notification on April 23, 2026. The online application process is now active and will continue till May 14, 2026 (11:00 PM). Candidates interested in applying for translator and related Group ‘B’ posts must complete their registration within the given timeline and follow all instructions mentioned in the notification carefully to avoid rejection of their application.

How to Apply Online for SSC JHT 2026?

All applications must be submitted using the SSC JHT application form online via the official website of SSC or through the “my SSC” mobile application, available on the Google Play Store. The older website (ssc.nic.in) is no longer valid for new applications. Candidates must complete a One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new portal before filling out the application form.

Steps to Apply Online for SSC JHT :

  1. Visit ssc.gov.in and click on “Register Now”.
  2. Complete the OTR process by providing details like name, Aadhaar number, email, mobile number, and date of birth.
  3. After registration, log in using your Registration ID and password.
  4. Select the SSC JHT 2026 examination and start filling the application form.
  5. Enter personal, educational, and contact information.
  6. Upload your photograph and signature as per SSC’s specifications.
  7. Pay the application fee using an accepted online mode.
  8. Review the form carefully before final submission.
  9. Take a printout or save a PDF copy of the final submitted application.

Aadhaar-Based Authentication Benefits

Candidates are encouraged to use Aadhaar-based authentication during registration. This allows them to avoid uploading separate photo ID or additional documents at later stages. Also, applications submitted via Aadhaar verification will not be rejected for minor discrepancies in photograph or signature uploads.

Candidates who opt for this mode will not be required to carry a photo ID during the examination, and the system captures their live photo during the application process using a camera.

Documents Required for SSC JHT Online Application Process

To complete the application, candidates must keep the following documents and images ready:

1. Photograph

  • Capture your live photo through a webcam/mobile device and upload.
  • Size: 20–50 KB.
  • Format: JPEG.
  • Candidates opting out of Aadhaar-based authentication must manually upload a photograph captured in front of a plain background with a straight frontal view. No cap or spectacles allowed.

2. Signature

  • Scanned Signature
  • Size: 10–20 KB.
  • Dimensions: 4.0 cm wide × 2.0 cm high.
  • Format: JPEG/JPG.

Note: Candidates opting for Aadhaar-based authentication are exempted from strict photo/signature requirements and will not be rejected on technical grounds.

3. Identity Proof

  • Aadhaar Card (mandatory for Aadhaar-authentication route).
  • Alternate photo ID proof (for non-Aadhaar applicants) such as PAN card, Voter ID, etc.

4. Educational Documents

  • Graduation and Master’s degree certificates/mark sheets showing eligibility in Hindi and English.

5. Category Certificate

  • SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/Ex-servicemen candidates must upload valid certificates in the prescribed format.

SSC JHT 2026 Application Fee

The fee can be paid only via online payment methods:

  • BHIM UPI
  • Net Banking
  • Debit/Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, RuPay)

Last date to pay the fee online is June 27, 2026 (up to 11:00 PM). If the fee is not received, the application will be marked as “Incomplete” and summarily rejected.

SSC JHT Application Form Correction Window

After the application deadline of May 14, 2026, Staff Selection Commission will open a correction window from May 19 to May 20, 2026 (11:00 PM) for candidates to fix any mistakes in their submitted applications

Key Points:

  • Candidates can modify and resubmit their application up to two times.
  • Correction Fee:
    • ₹200/- for the first correction
    • ₹500/- for the second correction
  • Corrections can only be made if the initial application and fee were successfully submitted.
  • After July 2, no further changes will be allowed under any circumstances.

The most recent corrected application will be treated as final. If correction fees are not paid, the application will remain incomplete and invalid.
