UGC NET 2026 One-Time Registration

UGC NET December 2026 candidates must register through the Meri Pehchaan National Single Sign-On (SSO) platform before filling out the application form. Steps to Apply for UGC NET 2026

Step 1: Registration/Login

Visit the official UGC NET website and open the December 2026 application form. Existing users can log in through their Meri Pehchaan credentials, while new users must register using their own email ID and mobile number.

Step 2: Fill Out the Online Application Form

Enter the required personal, contact, educational qualification, category, and exam-related details. Candidates must also select their subject, question paper medium and preferred exam cities as permitted by the application portal. If fewer than four cities are available in their state, candidates can select from the available options. City preferences may be revised during the correction window, subject to the permitted changes.

Step 3: Upload the Required Documents

Candidates must upload a live photograph during the application process, along with a recent photograph and scanned signature. PwD/PwBD candidates must upload the applicable Disability/UDID certificate.

The recent photograph must be in colour or black and white, with 80% of the face visible, including ears, without a mask, against a white background. The live photograph should be captured with proper lighting and a light-coloured background. Candidates can use a webcam or scan the QR code displayed on the application page using a mobile device or tablet.

Step 4: Verify the Application Details

Check the personal details, date of birth, category, educational qualifications, contact information, PwD/PwBD status and exam-city preferences before proceeding. NTA will treat the submitted details as final, subject to the prescribed correction facility.

Step 5: Pay the Application Fee

Pay the exam fee through the payment gateway integrated with the application form. The official bulletin specifies payment through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card and UPI. The exam fee paid through a successful single transaction is non-refundable. Failed or duplicate transactions are handled through the prescribed refund procedure.

Applicable service or processing charges and GST are additional. Candidates applying during the late submission window must pay an extra ₹500.

Step 6: Download the Confirmation Page

After successful fee payment, download, save and print the confirmation page. Candidates should retain the Application Number, payment proof and confirmation page for future reference. The confirmation page is generated only after successful payment. Candidates are not required to send the confirmation page or other application documents to NTA by post, fax, WhatsApp, email or by hand.

UGC NET Application Fee

UGC NET December 2026 candidates must pay the exam fee according to their category.

• General/Unreserved candidates must pay ₹1,150
• General-EWS/OBC-NCL candidates must pay ₹600
• SC/ST/Third Gender
• PwD/PwBD candidates must pay ₹325.

Candidates submitting the form before the deadline must pay an additional late fee of ₹500. Applicable service or processing charges and GST are payable over and above the exam fee. The fee must be paid through the available online payment modes. Candidates should verify the transaction status and retain proof of payment. NTA will not refund the exam fee once it has been remitted.

UGC NET Application Form Correction Window

UGC NET December 2026 candidates can correct permitted details in their submitted application forms from November 2 to November 4, 2026, up to 11:50 PM. The correction facility will be available online through the official NTA website.
