RRB ALP 2026 application process will begin soon on the official Railway Recruitment Board website for Assistant Loco Pilot vacancies. Candidates will need to register by entering their personal, educational, and category details, uploading a scanned photograph and signature as per the prescribed specifications, and paying the required examination fee. Applicants must ensure that all details and preferences are filled in accurately. All entries must be made carefully, as RRB allows corrections only during a specified edit window, after which no further changes will be accepted.

How to Apply Online for RRB ALP 2026?

The steps to apply online for RRB ALP 2026 are given below:

  • Visit the official website of RRB ALP.
  • Click on the E-Application link to go to the New Registration page.
  • Fill up the basic details i.e., Name, DOB, Employee ID, Mobile No., Email ID, etc. You will get a Registration Number and a message of the same will also be sent to the registered mobile no and email ID.
  • Save or take a screenshot of the registration number for any future reference or to log in again. Candidate Dashboard will appear for filling up Personal details.
  • Fill up the personal details, employment details, and educational details. Save the details and continue.
  • Upload the required documents. Save & Continue for Preview & submission of the application. Once an application is submitted, no data can be changed.
  • You can take a printout of the application for future reference.

Details Required for RRB ALP Application 2026

RRB ALP application has some rules to be followed. If any of the following rules are not followed the application form may get rejected:

  • Only online applications from qualified candidates should be submitted. Applications submitted manually, offline, or in hard copy to RRC or JP office will not be accepted.
  • Applications should be registered ONLINE at the official website by filling out the required details in the prescribed format and carefully following the processes and directions given in the notification. You must fill out the online application form completely. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
  • You must include your personal mobile phone number and email address in the online application form and maintain them active throughout the recruitment process.
  • You are recommended to register your applications online well in advance of the closing date and time to avoid problems such as inability/failure to get onto the website. On account of the tremendous traffic on the internet or website jam during the last few days.
  • Eligible workers must submit only one application in response to this Notification, and employees who submit multiple applications will be rejected from the selection process. Even if such a candidate is unintentionally selected, he or she will be rejected and will not be offered any position under this Notification for GDCE.
  • A color photograph of the candidate, no more than three months old, with a clear front view and no cap or sunglasses, should be uploaded. You should be aware that RRC reserves the right to reject applications at any point for uploading an old or unclear photograph or for any major differences between the uploaded photograph and your actual physical appearance.
  • The photo on the employee service certificate, uploaded in the online application, and produced at the various phases of the exam must all be the same.
  • You are urged to preserve extra copies of the same photograph for further stages. An application without a photograph is likely to be denied.
  • Uploading a running signature is required. Applications that are not signed, signed in capital letters, disjointed letters, or have spaces between the letters are rejected.
  • Uploading a clear thumb impression is recommended. An application that lacks distinct thumb impressions may be rejected.
  • At the time of document verification, candidates who wish to take advantage of SC/ST reservation must present their caste certificate, issued by the competent government. Like this, applicants who wish to take advantage of OBC reservation must present an OBC certificate along with a non-creamy layer certificate, for both the financial year in which they submitted their online application and the financial year in which they appear for document verification.

Reasons for Rejection of RRB ALP Application 2026

Applications having one or more of the mistakes will be instantly rejected as mentioned below:

  1. Multiple applications to different RRBs or same RRB: In such case, all the applications will be rejected summarily and such candidates will be debarred from all future RRB and RRC exams.
  2. Invalid Photograph (i.e., not as per prescribed Specifications) such as Black & White photograph, photo older than 2 months with respect to closing date of submission of application, photo in photo copied photograph, with less size photo within overall frame, Dark/distracting/ non-white background , group photograph, distractive shadows on background/ behind head, photo covering elbow and/or below elbow portion and /or photo below chest portion, photos with head/shoulder tilted, side/tilted view, Head side ward/ upward/downward, distracting shadows on /across the face, photos with fully eye closed , looking tilt toward downwards/sideways, Hair across eyes/ face, glare on eye glass, dark glasses, poor resolution/ brightness/ sharpness/ blurred/ washed out colours/ pixelated photos, Unnatural skin tones, photos with signature or name or date or any other marks or damage (torn, creased, marked), unrecognizable facial features, inverted image, selfie, Head with Cap/Helmet/ Hat, photocopied photograph, blank image etc.
  3. Invalid Signature (i.e., not as per prescribed specifications) such as use of non-white background and/or non-black colour signature, use of BLOCK/ CAPITAL letters instead of running hand-writing, poor resolution, incomplete image, incomplete signature, image other than signature, no signature(blank)image etc.
  4. Candidate's name appearing in the Debarred List of any RRB/RRC
  5. Any other irregularity including the deviations listed in above paras under 16.0(a) which is/are found during application scrutiny stage, before/after issue of e-call letters for CBT-I/CBT-II/CBAT or during Document verification.

Rejected Applications: Details of rejected applications (along with the reason for rejection) can be viewed on the website of the RRB concerned by logging in, which will be final and binding and no further correspondence shall be entertained on the subject. No refund of examination fee will be made for rejected applications. SMS and e-mail alerts shall also be sent to the candidates on their registered mobile numbers and e-mail IDs. Candidates will not be intimated by post.

RRB ALP Application Fee 2026

If you are from the General category you need to pay INR 500, for rests of the categories, the application fee is INR 250. However, it varies from year to year.

RRB ALP Application Fee 2025

Modes of Fee Payment:
a) Only Online fee payment through internet banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI will be accepted. All applicable service charges shall be borne by the candidate.
b) Fee can be paid by the candidates through the online mode only. There will be no option to pay fee through any other mode.
c) Applications received without the prescribed fee shall not be considered and summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection will be entertained.

Refund of Examination Fee (for those attending CBT1):

(a) All candidates must clearly mention their bank details in their application form (viz., Name of Bank, Name of Account Holder, Account Number and IFSC Code) for receiving the refundable portion of their examination fee (i.e., Rs. 400/- or Rs. 250/- as applicable minus bank charges).
(b) The responsibility for furnishing correct bank account details lies on the candidates and RRB shall not entertain any correspondence from candidates on this ground.
(c) There will be no refund of examination fee for wrong/incomplete beneficiary details and erroneous/ incomplete/rejected applications.

Documents Required to Apply for RRB ALP 2026

In the online application, some of the documents are required to know the details of the candidate. The document required for RRB ALP 2026 are as follows:

RRB ALP Specifications for Uploading Documents 2026

RRB ALP Application Correction Window 2026

After the online application has been closed, RRB ALP Application Correction Window will be opened on the official website from May 14 to May 23, 2026. You can modify RRB ALP application form after final submission by paying the modification fee of INR 250 (Non-Refundable).

After the application window is closed, the commission publishes RRB ALP application status. The following are the steps to check the application status:

  • Log in to the official website.
  • Select the region.
  • Enter the registration ID.
  • Enter the correct date of birth.
