RRB ALP Eligibility Criteria 2026: Check Age Limit and Qualification

RRB ALP Eligibility Criteria 2026 mandates that candidates must have completed their 10th grade and possess an ITI certification. For general category applicants, the maximum age limit is 30 years, as per the updated age guidelines. Age relaxation is provided for OBC, SC, ST, and Ex-servicemen. There is no restriction on the number of attempts for candidates. As RRB application process 2026 starts from April 12 to May 11, 2026, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria before applying online. RRB ALP recruitment is done in four stages, which are as follows: CBT Stage I, CBT Stage II, Computer-Based Aptitude Test, Document Verification and Medical Examination.

If you are applying for the RRB ALP, you need to know the nationality rules and regulation,s which are as mentioned below:

1. A citizen of India,
2. A subject of Nepal,
3. A subject of Bhutan,
4. A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

NOTE - A candidate who falls under categories (2), (3), (4), and (5) above must be someone in whose favor the Indian government has issued a certificate of eligibility.

RRB ALP Medical Standards 2026

Before appointing an Assistant Loco Pilot, the Railway Administration will conduct the necessary medical fitness test(s) to determine if you are medically fit to perform the duties of the position. You must make sure you are medically healthy because you will not be offered another position if you are not.

RRB ALP Visual Standards

For positions with Medical Standards A1, B1, and B2, candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery or any other surgical technique to correct a refractive defect are ineligible. The detailed visual standards for the RRB ALP are as follows:

• If you wish to be considered for SC/ST/OBC vacancies and/or seek age relaxation you must present a certificate from the appropriate authorities in the prescribed format at the time of document verification. Otherwise, your claim for reserved status will be denied, and your candidature/ applications fulfilling all eligibility rules for the General (UR) category will be evaluated only under the General (UR) category.
• Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for document verification after RRB ALP Results of the CBT and aptitude test are released based on the merit of the written examination. The shortlisted candidates would be required to present original certificates of education achievement, caste, DOB, employee certificate, relieving letter, etc. at the time of document verification.

RRB ALP 2026 Disqualification or Debarment

• If any irregularity/deficiency in the application is discovered, RRC maintains the right to reject the candidature of any applicant at any point in the recruiting process.
• You may be disqualified if you make false declarations or provide incorrect information.
• If you are detected employing unfair examination methods or sending someone else in your place to participate in the exam you would be disqualified from appearing in any RRB/RRC examination for the rest of your life. Under Railway D&A Rules, action will also be taken against him/her. Furthermore, such candidates are subject to criminal prosecution.
• The application is provisional at all stages of selection subject to fulfillment of all eligibility conditions, and RRC has the right to cancel an application at any stage if found ineligible under the Railway Board's Rules/Instructions published from time to time.
• Employees have been advised not to provide any incorrect information or conceal any material information while submitting the Application.
• Employees shall not use or seek to use political or other influence to enhance his/her interest in the selection process.
• Any misconduct on the part of the employee during the recruiting process is strictly banned, and such misconduct will result in the disqualification of the candidature as well as the initiation of relevant disciplinary/criminal actions.
• Any malpractices/misconduct will result in the candidate being rejected at any level of selection, as well as the commencement of relevant Disciplinary/ Criminal actions.
• Employees who submit more than one application will not be considered for the position. Eligible employees are only required to submit one application in response to this Notification. Even if such a candidate is mistakenly chosen, they will be rejected and not be given an appointment under this GDCE Notification.
• If the academic records are not from a recognized educational institution or board, the application will be rejected at any level of the selection process.

You should keep in mind that the date of birth entered in this application must match the date of birth on your Matriculation/SSLC or an equivalent certificate.
