KVS Recruitment 2026 Tier-1 exam is conducted as a screening test, where each question carries 3 marks and 1/3rd mark is deducted for every wrong answer. Candidates who qualify Tier-1 in a 1:10 ratio are shortlisted for Tier-2 based on category-wise merit. Tier 2 is conducted separately for each post and assesses detailed post-specific competencies. The final selection is made on the combined performance in Tier-2 and the Interview/Skill Test, wherever applicable.

KVS Syllabus 2026 FAQs

Ques: What are the eligibility criteria for TGT posts in KVS 2026?

Ans: TGT applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed degree. CTET Paper 2 is compulsory for most TGT posts.

Ques: Does KVS have age relaxation for reserved categories?

Ans: Yes, KVS provides age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, Women, and PwD categories as per Government of India norms. The relaxation varies by post and category, often ranging from 3 to 15 years.

Ques: Is there negative marking in KVS Recruitment 2026 exam?

Ans: Yes, KVS Recruitment 2026 exam follows a negative marking system in Tier 1. For every incorrect answer, one-third (1/3rd) of the marks allotted to that question are deducted. Candidates should attempt questions carefully because excessive guessing can significantly reduce the overall score and affect Tier-2 shortlisting.

Ques: Can candidates rely on NCERT books for KVS exam?

Ans: Yes, NCERT books are highly useful for KVS preparation, especially for TGT and PGT subjects, as much of the content in the Tier-2 exam is based on Class 6–12 fundamentals. For PRT, NCERT Class 1–5 books help strengthen basic concepts in Maths, EVS, and language skills. However, candidates should also study pedagogy, current affairs, reasoning, and post-specific topics because NCERT alone is not enough for the complete KVS syllabus.

Ques: What is the salary structure for KVS teachers?

Ans: KVS teachers receive salaries as per the 7th Pay Commission—PRTs under Level 6, TGTs under Level 7, and PGTs under Level 8. The total monthly salary includes basic pay, DA, HRA, TA, and other allowances.
