Candidates falling under categories 2 to 5 must provide a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. While such candidates can appear for the examination, the final offer of appointment will only be extended once this certificate is provided.

RBI Grade B Age Limit 2025 (as of September 1, 2025)

RBI Grade B 2025 age limit is set to ensure that candidates possess the right level of maturity and experience for the role. The criteria are as follows:

  1. Minimum Age: The candidate must be at least 21 years as of September 1, 2025.

RBI Grade B Educational Qualification 2025

RBI Grade B 2025 educational qualifications have been defined for each post under different streams. These qualifications are based on the stream the candidates are applying for: General, DEPR (Department of Economic and Policy Research), or DSIM (Department of Statistics and Information Management). General Officers in Grade B (DR)

To be eligible for the General stream, candidates must fulfill the following educational requirements:

  • Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate across all semesters/years. This percentage is reduced to 50% for candidates belonging to the SC/ST or PwBD categories.
  • Alternatively, candidates holding a Post-Graduate Degree in any discipline must have 55% marks in aggregate across all semesters/years. For SC/ST or PwBD candidates, pass marks will be sufficient.
  • The Graduation course must be at least 3 years in duration and should have been pursued after Class XII. This applies to candidates pursuing technical or professional qualifications as well, as long as the qualification is recognised as equivalent to a professional graduation degree by the Government of India.
  • Post-Graduation must also be of at least 2 years duration after completing a Graduation degree.

DEPR Officers in Grade B (DR)

For candidates applying for the DEPR stream, the educational qualifications focus on Economics or related fields. The specific qualifications are:

  • Master’s Degree in Economics or Master’s Degree in courses related to Economics, such as:
    • Quantitative Economics
    • Applied Economics
    • Econometrics
    • Financial Economics
    • Business Economics
    • Agricultural Economics
    • Development Economics
    • International Economics
  • OR Master’s Degree in Finance or Master’s Degree in courses related to Finance, such as:
    • Quantitative Finance
    • Mathematical Finance

    • Project and Infrastructure Finance
    • Agri-business Finance

This stream specifically focuses on candidates with strong expertise in Economics or Finance, with preference given to those with research backgrounds.

DISM Officers in Grade B (DR)

Candidates applying for the DSIM stream need to possess qualifications in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related fields. The educational requirements are as follows:

  • Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Applied Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Econometrics, Informatics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Big Data Analytics.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) in aggregate across all semesters/years in their Master’s Degree.
  • OR A Four-year Bachelor's Degree in the above-mentioned subjects with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate across all semesters/years.
  • For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the minimum required marks in the Master’s degree are 50% in aggregate.
  • The educational qualifications should come from a recognized Indian or Foreign University/Institute, approved by the relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Desirable Qualifications:
    • A Doctorate in related subjects like Statistics or Data Science.
    • Research or teaching experience in these subjects.
    • Experience in statistical or data analysis, especially using modern techniques such as machine learning or AI, is considered beneficial.

The DSIM stream is particularly suited for candidates with expertise in quantitative and statistical methods, data analysis, and modern computing techniques.
