UPSC CMS 2026 Educational qualification requires candidates to have passed the final year MBBS exam, both written and practical, from a recognised University. Final year appearing students are also eligible to apply. They must submit the Proof of Passing within the prescribed time limit.

UPSC CMS 2026 Application Process has begun from March 11, 2026. Candidates must complete the application process before March 31, 2026. Check the below steps to UPSC CMS Application Process:

Step 1: Go to UPSC’s official website and select the Combined Medical Services Examination 2026” link.

Step 2: Complete registration on the portal by filling the personal details, contact details, educational qualification, category details, etc. Upload the ID Proof as well.

Step 4: Login again with the credentials to fill fields like post preference, exam centre preference, etc.

Step 5: Upload your recent photograph and signature.

UPSC CMS Selection Process 2026

UPSC CMS Selection Process happens in 2 stages. They are as follows:

  • Computer-based test
  • Personality test
  • Document verification and medical examination

The computer-based Test consists of 2 papers in which each paper is evaluated on a total of 250 marks. Candidates qualifying this stage will be shortlisted for the interview process. The Interview Process will be evaluated on a total of 100 marks, evaluated by a panel of senior experts. The Final Merit List of UPSC CMS 2026 is published on the basis of the combined marks obtained in the computer-based test and interview (600). Candidates will also undergo a document verification and medical examination process before the declaration of the Final Merit List.

UPSC CMS Cutoff 2026

UPSC CMS 2026 Cutoff will be based on factors like the number of vacancies in each category, the difficulty level of the exam, etc. According to UPSC, PwD candidates are supposed to score a minimum of 15% in each paper to qualify. All the other candidates will have to score a minimum of 25 % in each paper to qualify for the subsequent stages.
